One of the better quirky restaurants in London. Fantastic atmosphere and great value for money. For special occasions, small groups or parties it is the place to be :)

Hearty food at relatively cheap prices, but disorganised and disinterested service lets it down. Choosing ingredients for your hotpot from the central buffet is a fun idea, although seeing a fellow customer sneeze over everything kills your appetite a bit.

8 of us ate here last night and everyone left pretty impressed. We were spread across two tables with one opting for the barebque, the other hot and tom-yum hotpot. You can't really go wrong with either it seems, as although there was some intermingling between the two both sides seemed pretty happy with their lot. The buffet kept well stocked through the evening with thin strips of protein (chicken, pork, beef, squid, prawns, mussels and slightly oddly frankfurter sausage) and a good selection of vegetables and noodles. There's also a selection of spices and sauces to dip your food in once you've cooked it at your table.Last thing to get out of the way is that the all you can eat buffet is now £13.50, I don't think anyone felt hard done by and it still seems like good value to me.

For only £12.50 per person, you get an all-you-can-eat hotpot or barbecue. If you're looking for Chinese/Mongolian hotpot, you'll have to pay at least £20 anywhere else (Chilli Cool, Red n' Hot, Angeles). You will have to grab your own meats and veg at a buffet table instead of them being served to you in rounds, but if anything that's a plus since you can get them whenever you want instead of trying to grab the waiter's attention. I would highly recommend the phoenix broth (half/half), so you can try both the spicy broth and the non-spicy chicken broth, the non-spicy being my favourite. If you find the meat slices to be thin, it's cut that way for a reason - so that you don't have to cook it in the broth for too long before it's ready to eat, thereby maintaining its rareness and doesn't overcook and dry out. In China we actually freeze the meat so that it's easier to cut thinly. You can always grab more if you want. The décor is not particularly fancy as it's in an old pub, but it has its charms and who cares when the food is so good and so cheap?

At £16 per adult the price it is a bit steep for what is a Chinese buffet that you cook yourself, and lackluster decor doesn't help either. Very disappointed.

All you can eat hot pot or grill for only £13.50?! This place was an unbelievable find. You can get both grill and hot pot for only £2.50 extra per person, so that makes it the same price as going to a limited menu restaurant. The choice of things to 'hot pot' are vast (vegetables, many meats, fish, king prawns, tofu..), there's a great choice of sauces, and you can order rice and singapore noodles with no extra charge. You will not leave here hungry!

Really fun place! We did the hotpot which wasn't as fun as the barbecue looked but it was still worth the experience. I recommend throwing as many veggies into the pot as you can at the start as they really flavor the broth.

OMG DO NOT GO HERE, NIGHTMAREso I went yesterday for the 1st time as I live local and was on the way home with my girlfriend after a long day at work, I fancied a Chinese and this place seamed to fit the bill, so we go in and there is a lady behind the bar on a laptop who see's us come in but doesn't greet us for a few moments as she busy with what ever it is that she's doing, then when she does she speaks to us from across behind the bar she doesn't bother coming around which I find rude, she then seats us and asked if we have been before to which we reply No, she then goes on to explain that it is basically a buffet that you cook yourself. I replied really? I could have cooked at home(because I was quite surprised as I have never heard of such a thing) a comment that was met with a dirty look. she then places a hot plate in front of us on out table and gives us a quick demo, she add's a wafer thin slice of beef to it and it takes about 4minutes to cook she then says that once its cooked we should dip it in a sauce from the table and eat. ok easy enough, so we grab our plates and head to the buffet, once there we are not impressed, there are a selection of CHEAP cuts of meat covered in gristle and cut wafer thin, some prawns with the heads on (the cheaper option) and some fish, there are also some sauces in bowl labelled as to what they are, nothing is freshly made you can tell they are all from some cash&carry somewhere, the meat is frozen not fresh and just no imagination has been used at all, so we take what we have chosen back to the table and begin to cook, now the real problem begins the hot plate is the size of a medium plate so there is only so much u can put on it, each piece of meat takes 5mins to cook and sticks to the hotplate as there is no oil, you have fish and beef stuck together and by time you have done it, its less then a mouthful, buy the time you do cook the rice or noodles they give you has gone cold too, its was so frustrating we decided to leave after 15mins as we was both very hungry and this was going to take forever to cook. so we get up and go to the counter, the lady behind the bar is on the laptop again on facebook, I ask for my bill expecting to at least be asked if everything was ok seeing as we clearly weren't happy and was leaving after such a short time, she didn't say a word as I got the feeling this is not the 1st time customers have walked out, instead she proceed to charge us the full amount even though we haven't eaten and tried to charge us for a drink we didn't have, and even tried to include service? are u F*%KING KIDDING MEthis place is clearly on its way out of business and good riddance I saydo not be fooled by the good reviews on here its properly what she was doing on the laptop when I 1st walked in, 5stars from a google user" YEAH RIGHTAVOID AVOID AVOIDunless you wanna pay £16 each to cook your own dinner from the cheapest meats know to man that even Iceland wouldn't sell and dipping sauces bought from Lidl"

Really good fun and very different - cook the food yourself, eat as much as you like and a buffet that is always well stocked. Good for groups and dates

Great place! Perfect for a cold night, warm up with some hot and delicious food. You basically get a big bowl of broth that you add your own meat and veg to.
