WCF Chandlers

Back in mid-January I ordered 1000 litres of Kerosene from WFC Chandlers. Our old, condemned tank was still sited next to our new one, so I made a note of this on the order (tank was buckled so obvious it was unusable). The delivery driver dumped the 1000 litres into the old tank, walked past the new one to do so and carried out no visual checks of the tank before dispensing!!! This caused it to split and leak oil around my garden. Chandlers came out and pumped what was left into the new tank and told me their insurance company would deal with the spill. Weeks passed with no news from Chandlers - no customer service or feedback forthcoming, our only contact was with the loss adjusters who were waiting on the go-ahead from the insurance company (trying to find a way of denying responsibility, no doubt). Finally, the clean-up company arrived 19th April to start work but now the oil had been in the ground for 3 months it had spread from 1.2m deep to over 2m deep, not sure if it travelled under our house now! Lots of digging and excavation, waiting 2 weeks for skips to be removed from our driveway, then informed another approach is required. It is now approaching the end of June, part of the garden has been fenced off with a very large hole in the ground for weeks and we are still waiting, despite chasing the clean-up company who seems reluctant to keep us updated. The whole experience to date has been frustrating, distressing, stressful, worrying and extremely annoying. How can a company you rely on to be professional, cause damage to your property then not even keep in contact to ensure everything is being dealt with satisfactorily? We did not ask for this, it was brought upon us by the error made by the Chandlers driver, and we are now expected to shut up and put up with the inconvenience! And if you read this and ask if we have been offered any compensation for the upheaval, inconvenience, and stress this has caused, I will simply laugh and say I just hope this doesn’t happen to you!!! All we received was the cost of the oil lost at the price it cost in January!!!

I've used Chandlers for my last 6 deliveries. Always good service and competitive prices. Recently (Oct 2023) the estimated delivery was 10 days but they came in 2 days which was handy as I was running low.

The phone was quickly answered when I rang to place my order. I was notified the day before my delivery was made, which arrived as promised. The delivery driver was friendly and efficient, and the oil was in the tank on no time.

Chandlers have been delivering my heating oil for some years now.The deliveries are always on time (sometimes earlier than the date forecasted), and always with a text message to warm me the day before. This kind of service and attention to detail is rare theses days.

Always deliver on time. Friendly, customer service has always been good in the 10 plus years we have been using Chandlers.

Chandlers delivered to my neighbour. Unfortunately, when delivering, they spilled oil through my hedge and over my lawn. Firstly, they disappeared without letting us know about the spill, they just waited for us to come across the slick on the lawn ourselves after wondering what the awful smell was. Once we had contacted them, they admitted their driver was not up to the job, however, still no apology. They left us to deal with the insurance company and put up with extensive works (1m depth removal of the lawn and complete removal of an old and lovely hedge) without so much of a contact. After saying they would contact us to apologise, have we ever received such a call - absolutely not? They couldn't care less. Clearly customer care is very low on their list. DREADFUL COMPANY.**update**Despite their response to both mine and my husbands reviews saying they would contact us to apologise, no contact has been made. On my review they claim that their General Manager has tried to make contact ‘without success’. I can confirm neither my husband nor myself have had an email, nor any missed calls from Chandlers attempting to make contact.Whilst we both completely understand accidents happen, and do not have a problem with the fact it happened, we both feel strongly aggrieved at the way Chandlers dealt (or rather did not deal) with the aftermath. It is simply not good enough to leave the site after an accident without informing the property owners the accident had even happened and then leave us to cope completely with all companies involved in putting right their damage. An apology would have gone a long way, to date even a simple verbal ‘sorry’ has not been received.

Old fashioned customer service makes them easy to deal with, and they are very friendly and helpful. They top up our tank regularly so we don't need to worry about it , and when the tank cracked, they spotted it and told us, checking on the progress of a replacement before they topped us up again. Couldn't be better!

If you'd like a new lawn and hedge then this is the company to encourage your neighbour to order their oil from.Just be careful to make sure when the Chandler delivery driver has spilled oil all over your garden that you're actually in and happen to notice the horrible smell - as you'll also find they scarper and don't tell you what's happened.When they do come and have a look they'll then happily explain that it's because their driver wasn't very good at the job and then abjectly fail to apologise.Oh well. I suppose all isn't lost - as we now have a new section of grass and hedge. Mind you we didn't really want that to be honest - nor the complete hassle and pain of dealing with the nominated insurance company to remove the spill and make good.Yes - Chandlers are the company to go for if your life isn't complicated and busy enough already - and you really need to spend your time hanging around waiting for the recovery guys to sort out a problem that Chandlers caused when delivering to a neighbours house. Or maybe just use some other company that uses drivers who deliver to the tank rather than your lawn!**** UPDATE *** UPDATE ****Great to get a reply so promptly from these guys advising the General Manager would be in touch. However, to date we haven’t received any such call. Maybe there are so many issues that these are still being fixed - before we get a call. Or maybe it’s was just a social media platitude with no intent to take any real action at all. I wonder which? We shall see. More updates to follow…**** UPDATE2 One week later ***It seems it was just a social media platitude as we have received no contact. I imagine the GM is either just too embarrassed to call us or that he/she doesn’t give two hoots about poor quality and PR. Oh well - Chandlers is just the job (or maybe not eh?!). Rude and unresponsive as well as rubbish at doing safe oil deliveries.

First class service. Very pleased with the entire process. Leaves my previous suppliers of some 20 years previously in the shade.. Excellent local office in Beeston Notfolk.
