B&Q Workington

I used to work as a night crew back in the Bury warehouse and so finding the right isle for what I came for wasn't so hard but had to ask a member of staff to look for the right screw I needed but it turned out that they simply didn't have it at all.I did have to approach a nice lady at the checkouts who radioed for that person to help me as I couldn't find one staff member near those isles and this is why I only gave 4 stars out of 5.They can have staff wonder of their section to help shoppers find what they want and it really would be better if the store had more staff to cope, my store used to be the same and then there's coffee breaks etc to contend with. My journey on this occasion a wasted one and hopefully if and when we return for anything else that the staffing issue has been improved. Normally a place such as this will have everything you need unless it's a specialist part, I didn't see that the screw I needed to replace a missing one from my walking frame would be as it looked like a typical 1/half inch wood screw, perhaps a warehouse store might have it, here's hoping.

Went for paint. Assistant in Valspar section very helpful. Gave advice on shades within my colour choice, the Valspar range of colours and matching ability (over 2 million!!), brushes on offer but good brand. Paint is excellent. 1st time using it but won't be the last!

Good store. Lots of product lines. Not as big as some B&Q stores but largest in area- of esp. interest is large garden centre area with lots of larger heavy items. Tend to compare with others online, but usually the best for larger items and less standard items.

Great staff who are helpful. Great range of products to suit all budgets

5 stars for ONE! team member in the design team (Joyce) she always goes above and beyond to help us! She kind, always smiling and does everything she can to help...if she doesn't know the answer she makes sure she finds someone for us that does.We are in the store at least once a week and we dread it when she isn't there as everyone else goes out of their ways to let customers know they are miserable in their jobs, have 0 product knowledge- till staff being the worse - they give 0 help and go out of their ways to make it clear they know nothing about products and aren't willing to find someone who can! Extremely poor reflection on B and q

Only went in for a couple of matchpots, it's always good to have a wander and see what's new or improved. Never know when you might need something for a job

Reasonably large branch of B&Q. Seems to have pretty much all you need for DIY, including things you wouldn't find at the discount stores. I was after a pair of pincers Home Bargains or B&M nearby didn't have any, B&Q did. They did mess up an online order of mine though. But they did sort it out efficiently.
