You have to pay to park. Then you can walk all around Rutland water. The church is about 3/4 mile from the car park. Lovely and peaceful.

Bummer that you couldn't get close due to a wedding.The surrounding area and water are excellent for a day out.Be careful everywhere is goose sh.t.When taking pictures, take some distance. The church is nice with the trees blooming and framing.

Got married here on Autumn Equinox. Absolutely beautiful. I want to go scuba diving to see the houses underwater, in the flooded Reservoir. The irony thatwe played Reservoir Dogs on the way there, without making the connection was crazy.

Lovely place to spend a family day picnic specially on a good weather day. Lots of walk and cycling opportunities. Boat ferry is also available for tourists. I personally think the place could benefit from some make up (flowers, kids play areas etc).

Facing demolition when Rutland Water was created in the 1970s, the church still stands proud and used after local protests and action saved it. Tons of aggregate were put down in the basement and the floor raised so the former deconsecreated church could be the site of functions, civil marriages and the face of this marvellous part of the tiny county of Rutland. It's not always open but you can peer inside to take a look. Also has a jetty for the Rutland Belle boat that runs April to October.

We started off from Whitewell and walked our way round, played some mini golf along the way, and then continued over the damn towards Normanton Church.This place is so peaceful and relaxing with gorgeous views of Rutland Waters.I would suggest taking a picnic with you as the cafe were pricey for fried fast food.But other then that you need to visit this place. :)
