Overall the food was nice, although we hoped for a carvery. When the roasts were brought out, the chicken breast was amazing however the lamb was quite fatty. We were more impressed with the desserts which were really lovely!Unfortunately the person serving us (a man slightly older than the rest - perhaps the manager) was not very welcoming when we arrived, and was quite offish when we asked to change something on our meal due to a dietary requirement. Later on, he was very sarcastic and rude to my nan which was completely unnecessary. This tainted our experience of which I had high hopes as this was my first visit but I'm afraid may now be our last :(

Busy and very popular but was a half-term Friday, so expected. We were fortunate that we got an unreserved table for two plus we had our dog with us. Service could have been a little quicker, but our drinks and food were very good upon arrival and the staff were attentive and friendly. Great range of choice on the menu too.

Visited the hostelry on Saturday, The Beer was excellent, the architecture was interesting, the staff were dismal, uninterested and almost surly, possibly because the management were absent. There are plenty of other pubs selling the same quality beer, I will be using those in the future.

Excellent Christmas lunch and service. Would defineately recommend. Staff very friendly, helpful and attentive.

I/4 pint prawns - a few dry prawns with sauce not mixed in properly & loads of lettuceMac cheese basically soggy pasta im sauce with cheese not properly melted and burnt bacon on topAsian greens - mostly chewy broccoli with no soy sauce or chilli or flavourWorst £30 i’ve ever spentStaff were lovely

Good food, good service, good atmosphere. What’s not to like.A large group of us went for a pre Christmas meal. Well worth every penny. Thoroughly recommend. You won’t be disappointed.

Excellent pub food, good service, great selection of beers served by friendly staff. Extensive outdoor beer garden huge car park. To be thoroughly recommended!

Return visit after many years of absence. Friendly welcome, huge menu! Settled on fishcake small portion and Asian salad. ( I wouldn't recommend that particular dish). Lovely dessert. Will return.

Food OK. But it was not as good as it was, also prices have escalated. I'm all for assistance animals being allowed into eateries. But really, why allow dogs that not assistance animals into these places that roam around begging for food and general being a nuisance and where food is consumed? I feel this is unacceptable.

I going to start by saying I have never stayed there but I love the food .The crown has a large menu but not a wide selection of items everything is great though but wouldn't go of you were a vegan . The food does take a while to cook though and any group larger than 4 will take at least half an hour to cook
