Stayed for one night. Decent room for the location of the place but absolutely stunk of sewerage. Tried opening the window but it didn't do anything to ease the smell. Booked a double room but the bed seemed smaller than a double.

Ladies and Gentlemen, choose this place!We really liked Room no. 2 and the food served in the restaurants. Met really nice people in service as and in the restaurant and had a very spectacular view on the Ouse while flooded. Was spookey and lovely at the same time. You‘ll get what you pay for and we‘ll come back for sure, saying thank you very much to the team! Yours German tourists Steph&Thomas

I didn’t stay in one of the rooms, however, my family and I ate a meal here and we had a wonderful experience! we entered with seven people and we were in a rush, the staff understood that we needed to finish our meal quickly as we had a tour to attend and they accommodated us so well. They took our orders quickly and cheerfully, likewise our food come out so fast and were just excellent. Over all a great place with even better staff! would highly recommend:)

Service in the pub was OK. Do not book to stay here. The room was disgusting damp mouldy walls. No blinds on the bathroom windows, stunkof sewerage, shower did not work, chair in the room was not safe to sit on. Mould in the shower and despite emailing and telephone calls no one has returned my calls or emails

Good location and friendly and helpful staff, but absolutely whatever you do do not book an interior room.We were in room 4, and looking at other reviews it seems we all had the same rather bad experience. Warm, damp, humid, and smelly, with patches of painted over mould, it wasn't worth even the cheaper rate we paid.We stayed two nights, and after the first tried booking a room in another hotel but couldn't find anywhere with space. We ended up asking the staff for an extra fan and buying a cheap dehumidifier which made the second night more bearable.

Was seated outside to have a drink on the river front by two young girls, waited 20 minutes before leaving still not had any service. People came 15 minutes after us was seated and served within 3 minutes. We only wanted drinks not food. The girls are still working at the time of this review. To busy gassing to serve people.

The fish must have been off as it gave me good poisoning. It’s unfortunate as we chose this place to eat as it’s on the waterfront but unfortunately this bad meal ruined my stay in York. We didn’t stay at the hotel, only ate here.

Was absolutely disgusting. Mouldy and filthy. Asked to change rooms and was messed about for 2 hours with rude ,disgusting behaviour was also told the room was in that condition sue to wear and tear . Mmmm about 20 years of it ... Due to having asthma, I told them I couldn't sleep in the room for the manager to reply that I could sleep on the street as I was a dirty slag . So please, please don't stay here . Ruined my holiday.

WE WILL NEVER RETURN - The room was not very clean at all and the shower black mould - the toilet was wobbly - none of the lamps worked either - we were asleep when someone opened the door at 10am as they thought the room was empty. Complained and the very young staff just said sorry - nothing offered liek a free breakfast to compensate. Absolutely terrible - we last with in 2019 which was fine - and they have obviously just done nothing since then. PLEASE AVOID
