The rooms are unite students average ensuites, located in one of the worst parts of Coventry and the alley located right in front of the accommodation is the work place for prostitutes! the reception is meant to be open 6 days a week but you won't see it open anymore than twice a week so if you're waiting for an important package to be delivered to you, even if the delivery company has delivered it on time you need to allow an extra 3-4 days until the reception to open and give your parcel. The wifi doesn't work properly and some nights you might have to spend all night long without wifi.

Staff are great, so is maintenance, the room and all that buut make sure you know who your flat mates are because they can potentially ruin your accommodation experience. Learn from me lol

I’ve been at raglan house since a year by now. It’s best and cheapest accommodation especially for Coventry university students which is closer to uni. Rooms are spacious, lots of events to get to know flat mate and connect.

In terms of how modern and up-to-date Raglan is with its facilities, I'd argue it's a solid average. There's nothing fancy or plush, but there is more than enough to feel comfortable. What really stands out for me is the staff helpfulness and friendliness here - they're so polite, apologetic when things go wrong, and generally very supportive and approachable. Compared to previous accommodation I've stayed at, this gives Raglan a clear advantage for me.

this place is very unprofessional, the staff are nice but barely in. when i first arrived here i had wait for about 30 mins just to be given my room key because they were not in during the times they said they would be

Much better accommodations available , staff are never here , it’s very inconvenient. They say opening hours are 10am-6pm but that is a lie as they close early and sometimes don’t even bother coming in on a Friday. So you’re pretty much paying for a service they don’t provide.

(I get this is huge, there's a shorter version at the bottom).Other than the toaster trying to kill me once Raglan house itself's completely average. Everything usually works; the bed isn't massively comfortable, but it's a bed. The kettle leaks when you pour the water out, but it boils water. The radiator turns itself off all the time but it does tend to stay on just long enough to warm your bedroom up, and the shower is unlike any shower I've ever seen. It's really indescribable, but it does work. I like how basic it is though, to me that's how student accommodation is supposed to be; completely bog standard. The thing about being a student is that you're constantly finding amazingly stupid ways to make things work, and Raglan gives you the opportunity to do that. For example when the toaster blew up and tried to kill me I, for about a month or two, made toast by putting bread in the oven. If it's stupid but it works, it ain't stupid. There is a lot to like about Raglan though; I like how small it is compared to gargantuan towers like Liberty Point- which by the way, if you're looking at student accommodation in Coventry, avoid Liberty Point like the plague. Actually, disclaimer: Victoria Halls is the best student accommodation in Coventry. Go there. It means no waiting around for a lift if you get dumped on the 16th floor of some colossal pillar. Because there isn't one. And there are only 4 floors. You kinda recognise people too, it's nice to have that familiarity as that's about as close to 'homely' you'll get at most student accommodations. It's perfectly located too, I'm about three minutes walk away from all the big student accommodations and 10 minutes away from the uni, and there's a really great Shisha bar at the end of the road. The slight snags are that Raglan is right next to a bit of Coventry called Hillfields; there are certain apartment blocks that delivery guys refuse to go into in Hillfields because they will definitely get mugged. That's Hillfields. It's also a stone's throw away from Hood Street which is where all the hookers in Coventry work and that's a little awkward, nice people though. The absolute best thing about Raglan though is the staff. When you need them they're always really contactable and they just get the fact that we're students, a few of them are ex Cov students themselves, really helpful and always courteous if they need to get into your room for whatever reason. When you don't need them? Nowhere to be seen. I'd say that's definitely the most important thing about all student accommodation; is there going to be someone bothering you if pre-drinks get rowdy or last till late, and will they still be here to make you sign your friend in" if you do come home with someone. This will not happen at Raglan. You can pretty much do whatever you want and nobody cares
