What a wonderful pub. The food was delicious. The staff were amazing. Very friendly and the service was excellent. The atmosphere was brilliant and the locals were very welcoming. A truly dog friendly pub with everyone saying hello to our German Shepherd. I can't recommend the Carpenters Arms highly enough. A wonderful all round pub and well worth a visit

1st visit for us and with friends, who have just moved to the locality. Fairly modern in appearance but with a pleasant vibe. Staff were friendly and efficient, our server was particularly good . A very comprehensive menu of mostly classic pub fayre, not fine dining but well cooked and tasty dishes at a reasonable price. I certainly enjoyed my liver and bacon with mash; not often seen these days but yummy! We can only go again when we next visit our friends as we live 100 miles away so in a couple of months, when we are next due, we shall be pushing to come again.

Great service and a great choice of meals. A break from the normal chain run pubs.All meals we had were excellent and fresh. It was nice not to feel rushed between courses.We will definitely go again.

Food was good but la bit of a hickup with the service. our deserts did not get out though to the kitchen. Decided not to have them but they still appeared on the bill. Took a long discussion to get the staff to understand what had happened. Then there was extra drinks on the bill that we had ordered. Didn't really get an apology or anything. Pitty would go back for the food not for the service.

Really nice pub. Great place. Charming decor, lovely outdoors take a look. A word to the wise, have the 700 year old German beer.

Met a friend here for lunch, I had chicken stir fry the chicken was hit and miss some ok some you couldn't even get your fork through. I ate what I could but left the rest in all fairness yhey did ask if I wanted another but we didn't have time.Don't think we will go back.

Visited after a recommendation, Friday evening visit sat outside in the sun!Large car park was ideal as we don’t live local, a warm welcome from the staff greeted our arrival, inside the pub looked well kept, good choice of food (nothing fancy pants just traditional pub grub which I usually prefer anyway), the beer garden was a good size and the beer was good! Dropped a star as I wasn’t blown away by the food quality and I don’t know if they did desert as when he cleared the plates away (I think the landlord) we weren’t offered anything else. Yes I would call in for a drink if close by but possibly not eat here again in a hurry.

Fantastic pub. Had a very warm welcome and accommodated us immediately with a table. Food was beautiful and the service was really good. Warm, friendly without being overbearing. One of the best pubs we have ever been to. Will definitely return when we are next in the area! Absolutely outstanding.

Very welcoming from the moment we arrived. We arrived dead on opening time so not too many people in, hence the reduced score for atmosphere. The pub has a nice ‘village’ feel; there is quite an extensive menu of traditional meals, all reasonably priced and the food we had was well cooked, well presented and a perfectly adequate size. I would definitely return. Toilets are clean but, as is so often the case, the men’s room could do with a bit of TLC.
