Porthmissen Car Park

Be very careful at this place, they are stinkers when it comes to enforcing payment.... I paid for 3 hours but my walk took longer than expected. I get home to find a charge of £60 for overstaying my time. Wow!!!

Beware car park now operates camera parking - we only drove in to look at the beach, didn't even get out of the car - £60 fine which says we were there 15 minutes.

Car park and company that runs it are complete scammers. Drove into car park and from the literal second you drive in your parking charges apply. No account taken for physically getting out of the car to pay at the machine, or like us, using the app to pay for a ticket (despite very little signal resulting in this taking a bit of time). Came back from an otherwise lovely day of 4 hours on the beach and a few weeks later received a £100 fine. I paid for 4Hours on the app and was literally 1 minute late leaving (wife breastfeeding, getting other daughter in the car, getting shoes on etc). Will be raising this with the MPs for Cornwall as it’s literal daylight robbery and really putting lots of tourists off venturing to an otherwise idyllic beach.Cornwalls greed strikes again!!

****Beware**** this carpark is a con!!!! , we paid for parking here in August for the correct amount of time. We have the bank statement showing we paid... Just received a fine for parking here £60 now or goes up to £175…!!!!! Be warned It looks like they are trying to raise false parking fines in the hope people will just pay up for no reason. No contact telephone on the letter other than automated payment line....

This review is for Trevone Beach Car Park, which is the other side of the beach from Porthmissen Car Park, but it doesn't seem to be listed on Google Maps.Don't bother stopping here. Very poor cellular signal/capacity meant that the JustPark App failed to complete a payment transaction multiple times (plus there's no option in the App to extend an expired parking session), resulting in an 'overstay' and a penalty charge from the seemingly much-hated Alliance Parking UK Ltd.The car park is just a bit of barren and bumpy land with no facilities, and the nearby cafes are overpriced.If you see any car parks which are enforced by Alliance Parking UK Ltd then just drive on by and find an alternative - businesses like this ruin the experience for the holidaymaker, and we will certainly avoid this area of Cornwall in the future.This was our first visit to the Padstow area - we won't be returning. There are many other places to visit, without the hassle.

Do not park here if machines not working. Just received parking fine for 28.3.23 when both machines showing out of order so no way to pay.

Not as complicated as those who have been fined make it out to be. Just read the signage. Just have to be aware you pay for your time on site, in advance...which is where people Are having issues and I agree is not user friendly. The car reg is clocked in and out and your payment needs to match that time. Use the app so much easier to keep track of time. There is good reception (4G with 02network) in the car park.Any people with fines should Google MSE fixed penalty notice challenge and it'll help. These car parks can't be unreasonable but if your time has elapsed and you are still taking up a space in a car park others want to be in...

BEWARE. Free parking before 8am, but you need to allow time to get out of the car park. I was back to the car in time, but it was 8.03.02 when my car passed the camera. I have received a £60 fine. Not even a five-minute grace period for you to get out of the car park. Be warned...

Parking charge notice arrived almost four months after I parked here. It may be very difficult and time-consuming to prove that you have paid the correct amount, especially four months down the line. It seems that they want people to pay the fine (£60 within 14 days from the date of the parking charge notice letter or £100 thereafter) rather than the hassle of going through the appeal process. Avoid parking here.
