As most UK cities go, Newcastle council tries very hard to take as much money as they can from people living in the city. Speed traps down most streets, bus lane fines for every time you change lanes in the city center, they will try to rob you blind... nice work on making Geordies lives harder. You're doing a great job..........

Whilst on Holiday, I decided to explore Newcastle-upon-Tyne City Centre and parked my car at the Eldon Square Multi-story carpark. I was NOT impressed by the unnecessary Check-in Check-out payment system used at the carpark as it can catch out new" visitors to the carpark resulting in them getting a fine. However

Absolute shambles of an organisation.They have decided to change my council tax payments to four large payments over four months rather than the agreed payment each month over the year. They have done this off their own back and informed me 1 month before the first payment is to be made.

Horrendous and inept council. Have complained about hundreds of things from litter, flytipping, broken pavements and dangerous roads and every single one has been ignored. The whole council area is an absolute mess and looks vastly unkept. The Labour councillors are completely unwilling to help and so are the MP’s. Disgraceful.

Newcastle city council is an expensive waste of my council tax for which I get very little in return.Apart from a very unhelpful social worker for my late mother who did nothing to help her, my current councillor Barry Phillipson is even more useless.I have made countless complaints to him about bins, dog fouling, the dangerous state of pavements and cars blocking wheelchairs ramps and he has been mainly apathetic and ignored most of my emails and telephone calls direct to his house.My overall impression of all departments of this council are that they do as little as possible to get by and simply don't care about the public who are paying their wages. It seems to be an 'I'm alright Jack' attitude and too bad for you Joe public !

Not quite sure what I pay my council tax for. Sub par Libraries, rubbish and recycling (im a private renter, I pay service charges for this service anyway) A filthy city, horrific traffic and road works, distinct lack of city centre parking, numerous one way and buslane only streets and counsellors that take the area and vote for granted. No wonder theres a rise in popularity of Farage and GB News. Quite frankly Newcastle City Centre is a disgrace.

So I tried calling Newcastle city council and I got the automated telephone which plays distorted music and a continuous message about reporting waste it gets a little annoying after 38 minutes, I finally give up,All's I needed was a simple question answered,So let's just say they answered after 40 minutes which I find very unlikely that would mean out of 100s of thousands of residents they would manage to speak to maybe 7 people per day, obviously there breaks and lunch includedWOW just WOW

Absolute focking joke.https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/application-for-refunding-out-of-pocket-expenses/guidance-on-applying-for-out-of-pocket-expenses-for-a-cancelled-driving-testI need my money back through the government even though I paid to the Derby hospital by hand. I live in Derby, by but the base for where to get the money back is Newcastle.Even the hospital said I cannot have it through card just because I got it by cash.
