Leon van Rooyen Garden Design

I contacted Leon for design support for a small garden following a renovation project. I (thought I) had a clear idea in my head as to what I wanted; Leon respected this but also suggested alternatives / new ideas, and we ended up with a much better outcome.Leon was transparent about costs, communicative, made tweaks to designs when asked, meticulous on plant and tree selection (he rejected a few trees and sent me images to confirm I was I happy), cool under pressure due to supply issues (got there in the end with the pavers!) and helped managed the actual build with the landscapers.Leon holds himself to a high standard and that clearly comes through in the results - very happy to recommend and perhaps work again with him again in the future ☺️

My town garden in N1 was looking tired, with several elderly shrubs that were dying. Leon made recommendations on what to remove, then produced a planting plan to refresh the garden whilst keeping items that are much loved. My brief was to keep the same overall feel, but to add things that are reasonably hardy and easy to care for. He also conditioned the soil, planted the lovely new mix of evergreens and flowering plants and I am delighted with the result.

Leon was well priced, provided clever suggestions to maximize the utility of our garden space without compromising on looks. We ended up with a lovely space - highly recommend.

We worked with Leon to re-design our small-sized London garden from an uninspiring space when we moved in, to something inviting and sustainable. He really listened to what we wanted, translating our needs into a final product, while guiding us into some great choices we otherwise wouldn't have considered. He did a great job engaging a construction team to be able to deliver in time to enjoy the garden before the end of summer, and ensured that everything kept to time and budget.

Leon has done the most wonderful job of transforming my back garden in N16. I went to him with a vague idea of the plants I already liked, he made suggestions for extras, sourced some wonderful large decorative pots, and planted everything for me. He has also really improved the quality of my soil so that everything is absolutely booming. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Leon to anyone needing quality garden design.
