Dean and Lisa are the owners and are very lovely, we swam almost every afternoon as the hotel is by the sea, they serve locally sourced food and it is delicious, the hygiene is great and we plan on returning for a third year.

The review by SQ on this platform is definitely a fake review. Read his or hers other reviews, ignore them.We stayed for three nights. We were warmly welcomed by Lisa & Dean. Check in was a quick and necessary action to abide by.Our room was so inviting with lovely bedding, clean and freshly laundered. We had a perfect sea view room looking out onto Lyme Bay. The beach is literally across from The Mariners. The cooked breakfasts were served to our table. Food was well prepared, and the quality of it was enough to tell us it was locally sourced. We had plenty of room from other tables , even so we were able to converse with other guests, swapping tips on where to visit during our stay.We were able to park our car on site, which was a relief. There is a seating and table area at the front of The Mariners where we could, if required, have our food and drinks. Our stay was so pleasant because of the exceptional room we had, also Lisa & Dean and the staff being so welcoming helpful and warm.We will most definitely be returning for a longer stay in 2024.Peter.

For the person commenting this is a fake review you must be a close friends or writing fake reviews yourself to stand up for their establishment. To put it simply, my stay at your establishment was nothing short of awful. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with an abundance of arrogance and rudeness from hosts Lisa and Dean. The level of discomfort I experienced throughout my stay was unprecedented.Firstly, the condition of the room I was assigned was extremely unsatisfactory. The bed was tainted with visible stains on both the sheets and blankets, which I found highly unacceptable. Such uncleanliness casts serious doubts on the overall hygiene standards of the hotel, making it an unpleasant environment for both dining and vacation purposes. Not only was the room unclean, but the bathroom left much to be desired as well. The presence of mildew and fungi covered all the silicone-covered gaps, indicating a lack of regular maintenance and cleanliness. Additionally, the mattress itself was old and rickety, emitting loud and disturbing 'bong' sounds whenever I sat on the edge of the bed. Furthermore, the size of the room's television set was laughably tiny, leaving me highly disappointed.Adding to my list of grievances, the promised 'free' internet did not work at all during my entire stay. This greatly inconvenienced me, as I had important business tasks that required an internet connection. Moreover, the hotel's passages emitted a strong smell of old cigarette smoke, making it particularly unpleasant to navigate through. Additionally, the narrowness of the corridors and the repeated banging of fire doors only served to disturb my sleep and add to the overall unpleasant experience. In light of these numerous issues, I feel compelled to strongly advise against anyone staying at your establishment. The overall quality, cleanliness, and customer service at the Mariners Hotel were simply appalling. It is my sincere hope that this feedback reaches the appropriate authorities and that immediate measures are taken to rectify these grievous shortcomings.I trust that my concerns will be addressed promptly and that appropriate action will be taken to ensure that future guests do not have to endure a similar unfortunate experience.

Spent an evening having a meal in the restaurant. Good and friendly service. Food is basic but tasty and good. Right on the seafront.

An outstanding stay on the Seascape apartment. It felt like a real home from home, quality and comfort throughout and of course - the view to the sea and speedy access to the beach. Lisa and Dean were the perfect hosts and with the benefit of parking, nothing could be better. Go on... book a stay!

Hosts Lisa and Dean were very friendly and welcoming. The hotel is in an excellent location right across from the beautiful boardwalk and beach (rock beach). We had a sea view from our room and the breeze blowing in was wonderful. There is a bar and the resto accommodates vegan customers. Good selection of beers and the food was very good.Sept 2023

Excellent sea front hotel. Rooms well appointed and spotless. Breakfast and dinner excellent. Certainly one of best smaller family run hotels we have stayed in. Hosts Lisa and Dean very attentive and personable, let's not forget Molly too. Had a great stay and would definitely visit again if in the area.
