Wells Road Surgery

Useless - phone system is shambolic. As is the prescription service - the only way to get a prescription for the pill is to email them, if you ask any questions in that email they don’t reply. I called to make an appointment with the a nurse about my pill prescription and was told I couldn’t do that, I could only email. Haven’t had my blood pressure etc checked by them for a couple of years and yet they are still giving me the pill.

I’ve been a patient at many practices in bristol and have found wells road surgery to be the best.I have never had a problem with the receptionists and actually have found them to be extremely helpful! And I’ve had about 30+ interactions with them over 4 years!I have a chronic condition so have seen multiple doctors and nurses at my time there and have found the whole team to be friendly, knowledgable and effective.I’ve seen doctor Ewan, Rowell, chakrabarti and Darvill over the years and couldn’t ask for better.Claire and Elaine are so lovely and puts me at ease when I get my bloods done!

Throughout lockdown and since the surgery has been so overstretched. However I have always been able to speak to some one( usually with a call back).Having had some very difficult situations and mental health issues, this has been so helpful.Let's not be too harsh on the surgery staff, they can only do what they can do.I for one am extremely grateful to have them there.

Constantly hangs up on you when trying to call.Update to their shocking service (May 23) . Sent online request for consultation on a tonsil stone I have been suffering for over a year. I was sent a text reply with an appointment in 2 weeks time on a Tuesday at 2pm (middle of working hours). I left work and travelled over an hour for this appointment only to sit down in front of the doctor and them tell me there was nothing they could do to help and I would have to pay privately. Disgraceful Service, could have reviewed my request and called me to tell me this instead of wasting peoples time.

The receptionist(s) must be either replaced or retrained. Absolutely appalling treatment of people who are contacting in quite a worried state. Simply can’t be bothered because we are closing in 30 minutes was the general attitude.

I was so impressed with my treatment the other day that I thought I must write a review. I sent an online consultation request at 8.30am. I had suspected tonsillitis (which I have had many times before). The GP phoned me at 9.30am, discussed my symptoms and was so sympathetic. He said he would issue a prescription for antibiotics to be delivered to the chemist. I picked up my prescription from the chemist after lunch. Thank you for such an excellent service.

I have been a patient here with my family for two years and it is the best doctors I have experienced. Dr owen pope and birdie in particular are amazing.when my children have been poorly they have been seen each time, the online triage system works really well and can make you be more specific of symptoms and saves calling 100s of times. The reception staff get bad press but I personally have always never encountered rudeness, when having been in the surgery they seem to be on the recieving end of rudeness

I don't even know where to begin, too many issues to list here and I'll just get upset if I start writing about everything that has gone wrong for me since I registered here in October. Literally the only reason I don't register elsewhere is this one is near my house and the next closest one is just as bad. I've gone to my local MP regarding the problems I'm having in getting a lifelong, chronic illness properly treated by the doctors here, and to the ICO regarding an absolutely shocking data breach committed by reception staff in May this year. Communication is awful, phone appointments run late or don't happen at all, the practice is woefully understaffed and the doctors tell you there's nothing they can do most of the time. I basically just use them as a prescription dispensary and to have routine blood tests done at this point and have gone private for everything else (which I can't afford to do, but it's that or nothing). The nurses are lovely, that's the only positive I can muster.

I am shocked and disgusted by the way I have been treated by the receptionist Faye this morning. May I suggest that she reconsiders her carer options, after the way she spoke to me (after I told her that I was experiencing a lot of pain), I think she would be better suited to working in a prison not a GP practitioner where she has regular contact with vulnerable and unwell people. I will be raising a formal complaint about this issue as this isn't the first time that I have experienced unhelpful, inpatient, unprofessional, and rude staff at this GP surgery. I highly recommend that others also complain if they have had similar experiences.
