Bowen Pies Adlington Shop

Just bought a meat and potato and chunky steak pie I can say I'm very disappointed the meat and potato just tasted of pepper and fat and the chunky steak looked nothing like it did in the pictures also very bland, won't be returning its such a shame the pictures look amazing slight false advertising.Paul Bowen I am very honest with my reviews I didn't say it had fat in I said it tasted of fat, the chunky steak looks nothing like your photo that day I spent £13.80 the next day alot of watery liquid was leaking out of one of the pies, I am fully entitled to my opinion and I am not bad mouthing you and I am certainly not the only person to leave a bad review but thank you for the ban shows the pettiness

I was tempted in by the claim of award winning pies and I must say was a bit disappointed.The shopfront seemed a bit sparse, bland and didn't even have a board to show what was available.They didn't do peas and gravy as they said that was only in the winter.I ordered the steak pie and found the pastry was a bit dry and was generally mediocre.I also asked for a pork and black pudding pie but was given just a pork pie instead which I found average and seemed to have a glaze on top that makes the pastry stubbornly adhere to your teeth. An experience I don't find very pleasant.On the whole I found them very average and can't imagine how they won awards.I personally think Galloways or Greenhalghs pies to be better.

We placed an online order and a few days later a selection of fresh pies arrived. Excellent quality (no stodge) Fair price and great customer service. Just a note if you do order online, Make sure you freeze some on delivery or you will find you eat 20 pies and puddlings in 4 days....oops.

Brilliant pies when you can takeaway. Also brilliant in the current circumstances when you can have them delivered. Steak puddings, chunky steak pies, pork pies and pork & black pudding are my favourites. They do various others and sausage rolls as well.

12.30 Friday afternoon, 6 people eating in. We ordered 2 lattes, they only had 1 cup left! Cheese pie but they had sold out,. Ordered flat steak pie with peas and gravy and steak pie with peas and gravy. Served the first order then told they had no more peas or gravy! So no latte cups, no cheese pie, no peas and no gravy at 12.30pm really poor service.

Been here a few times and never been disappointed. I usually get meat and potato but tried the steak one the other day and it was amazing! The steak must be slow cooked or something, it just falls apart on your mouth. Great place to grab a quick easy lunch and the prices are worth it for the quality

I tried Meat and Potato Pies and they were delicious so then ordered the Steak Pies with chunky steak and gravy. They too are really good and I would recommend them to anyone. I must add that the pastry too matches the quality of the contents.

Absolutely perfect! Packaged professionally for fresh delivery, couldn't ask for better service as it comes in a cool box with ice packs.Flavours are magical in the pies and the favourites are for sure the butter pie or the chunky steak. By far the best steak I have ever had in a pie!
