Service was good but the food was really disappointing. Even the salad look 2 days old , stater was served in really big plate and really small portion, main course was really salty and all the dish taste same even though we order different, daal makhni was red and wasn’t appetite at all see picture for reference

I heard good things about this place and was really disappointed really quickly. They say us right next to the only table in use which is a little annoying because all the other tables and chairs are free. When ordering you get an A3 piece of laminated payer with the menu on it, which didn’t match the extravagant black and gold decor. If you want to order something spicy you need to ask for the spice level to be increased, although I do not recommend it as the spices didn’t cook into the dish so it tasted undercooked. The curry itself was oil on a plate undercooked potatoes and a small sprinkling of tomatoes. The naan was a garlic naan but it was fully just unmelted garlic margarine spread on this bread. Not gonna lie I had high hopes

Overpriced basic food. The salad was definitely old and the rice is surely microwaved from those rice packets. SO EXPENSIVE but the service was excellent, Ali was great and made the terrible food experience good. Also, the 7up was the cheap lemonade drink and the coke was the cheap cola bottles fromLidl. What a rip off

For a restaurant I believe most important is at least pay attention to the customer no matter what or how much he has ordered but I guess because you guys have big place so person with small orders doesn't matter and you will just ignore and make person wait for 1 hr just get takeaway of single thing ordered 40 mins back. Moreover, you will not even come to person if he is asking to confirm the time of order.Your staff will just look at the face of person and doesn't give a damn to him. Amazing service standards shown by so called big restaurant.Small restaurants are far better from you guys

Akbar's Restaurant in Sheffield is a great place to go for a delicious Indian meal. The food is authentic and flavourful, the atmosphere is lovely, and the service is friendly. However, the wait time for food can be long, especially when the restaurant is busy.

Pros:Excellent ambience and good service. Good staff. Nice location. Right place to celebrate special occasions.Cons:They are already on the expensive side. There is no reason to trap family members in unnecessary accessories and make little more money. We were ready with our order but before my daughter could read out the order, the waiter started tricking her into unnecessary items and was able to add few items. I intervened and stopped him. He had already added small items which are normally offered free in most high end restaurants but to our surprise charged here. For a tiny bowl of chutney which came with Papadam, they charged GBP 2.5. Just waste of money with no value in return. Be careful here and order just what you have decided.

Our go-to place for celebrations. Food is amazing and served hot, the family naan breads are massive and the onion bhajis are so nice. The staff are always friendly and efficient. If it's a birthday celebration they'll play happy birthday and bring out an ice cream with a large sparkler in (around £6 but worth it!). Will be back later in the year.

One of the best Indian restaurants in Sheffield! Booked a table for my sister's graduation and it was the perfect choice. The garlic family naan is definitely a must but all the dishes we had were delicious. Would highly recommend for an authentic (probably) Indian food experience. Just make sure to order enough Mango Lassi jugs because the food can be very spicy
