Exceptional food, great service and a relaxing atmosphere! We came here for the tasting menu on a Saturday night and would definitely recommend! A good range of courses and flavours. The pheasant was a particular highlight! Great drinks options too - both soft and alcoholic. We had an excellent greek wine. The bar and restaurant is in a beautifully renovated old building too, which adds to the charm.

Had the tasting menu last weekend and while there are things they can improve on, the overall vibe was great and the courses were delicious. Too early to say more, but I'm definitely coming back!

Wow! What an addition to Edinburgh’s ever growing food scene. I’m not one to head home from a night and hop on Google for a review but this place deserved it. I went to catch up with a friend in the wine bar for some small plates - the venue, atmosphere, food and wine were incredible.We ordered most of the small plates (missing pictures of the rest as we ate them too quickly) - trust me, get the oysters.With all that said, the stand-out star of the venue comes from the team who were welcoming, friendly, passionate and knowledgable. Special mention to the chef who brought each small plate out fresh from the kitchen with an excitable smile.If you’re from Edinburgh or visiting, add it to your list. You wont regret it.

We ate in the restaurant upstairs and had the tasting menu. In my opinion, for the price, it represents excellent value. All the courses were delicate, elegant and incredibly tasty (the scallop being my personal favourite). I’m not much of a desert person usually but the cheesecake blew me away. Service was exceptional and we felt very well looked after by the whole team. I loved the atmosphere of the dining area, and it was a very relaxing space to be in. I would recommend Montrose to anyone.

We only came in for drinks , not food so this review is based on our experience downstairs.A limited selection of wines by the glass - Eye wateringly expensive for wine or beer.Perhaps it was because it was a mid Saturday afternoon but fairly quiet downstairs.Much prefer Spry at the top of Leith Walk as it is more vibrant....and affordable.
