Excellent pub to sit down with your mates for a chat over drinks. Brilliant ambience, there's live music on the weekends - check the board for details. Spaceto dance of you feel like it. The food spread is good and service is quick even for app orders. The staff are superb. They remembered how our group took our drinks and had them prepared just how we wanted it on reorders.

Decided to check out the Olton Tavern and see if I could watch the rugby, grab a pint and get a meal.Large TV was working & showing the pre-match pundits. All good but no volume.Staff were busy, so I politely asked about the volume.20 minutes later TV goes to automatic shut down mode. When I asked the senior barman about switching it on again...His unhelpful reply was If it goes off it won't go on again"So much for customer care.Food arrived. Fish & chips and was not the best. Chips hidden under the fish.Fortunately one of the regular customers got the TV picture on.Unfortunately the unhelpful attitude of the barman wasn't a good reflection of The Olton Tavern and I'll be taking my custom elsewhere for a more friendly service; which is a shame as I realise other staff are trying to do a good job."

This place just doesn't have great standards. The food wasn't served with the dip that was advertised on the menu. The tables full of empty glasses and the ash trays full of soaked cigarettes that hadn't been cleaned out from the night before. I'd understand if standards dropped when really busy, but it wasn't. I don't think I'll eat in an Ember Inns again, but will likely still pop in for a pint.

We had Sunday lunch (rib of beef) and it was delicious - one of the best Sunday lunches I have had. Service was good and efficient. The decor was fresh and clean. Altogether a very enjoyable afternoon. The car park is a bit awkward to exit but that is a minor point.

Recently refurbished so nice and clean. Good atmosphere as lots of people were visiting due to the reopening. However the wait on food was long (30+ minutes) for lunch. Would visit again but maybe more for drinks and nibbles. Nice to see that the bar area is dog friendly.

Enjoyed our visit on the whole, pub was busy, quite a delay in receiving our meals but we were not too concerned as we were with friends and chatting and intended to stay in the pub for drinks after our meal. However, although we did not complain the Chips were awful they had obviously been kept in the hot hold, my friends were barely warm. There was live entertainment on which everyone seemed to be enjoying, however we then moved to a quieter area in the pub as the purpose of our visit was a catch up with friends and you could not hear your self think. We thought the price of the meals were expensive for pub grub compared to other pubs in your chain, but on the whole we enjoyed our visit.
