Ladywell House Suites

My friend booked the room through booking.com two weeks before our arrival. Had confirmation and spoken to them about check in time e.t.c.Three hours before check in we had a message to say that our room was the wrong price and to keep our room we needed to pay £90 extra. We explained we were already in Birmingham and we had nowhere else to stay. This didn't help and they said they had forgotten to increase the price with pride being on. I explained we were two women and without that room we would be stranded in Birmingham. In the end he came back telling us we could pay £60 extra if not the room would be gone. We felt that we had no choice so paid it in cash as he had instructed.The room was much smaller than on the pictures. The hallway was dirty and the lift was very old. The place was very hard to find and with the amount of different codes in and out I think a hotel would of been easier. Only saving grace was the bed was comfortable.It was very inconsiderate to change your price not only after confirmation but also three hours before check in. You did not care that we weren't from Birmingham and had no where else to stay. Also the stress you put on me and my friend. I would never go here again.

Dreadful. We were flooded out of the room because they claimed we had switched on a switch marked do not touch! (we hadn't, but the shower leaked) . The room was very small, the lighting in the stairwell was very bad, some lights not working, this didn't feel safe. When we asked for a refund, due to the flooding and having to go to another hotel, we were refused. The area that the room is in seems a bit dodgy, the glass in the front door was broken. People in an adjoining room having a loud party. Total waste of money and an awful experience.

The apartments are well equipped and clean, dont be put off by the appearance of the entrance and stairs/lift. When i arrived i had a bad feeling but as soon as you go to your floor its beautiful, warm, clean and well presented!

Thanks god I spent only one night in this awful room. The room was dirty, the bedsheets were dirty with long women hairs, pubic hairs and yellow spots. I slept on the mattress, without the bedsheets, using the tent and wearing my clothes because I was scared about any disease I could take under that dirty sheets. DO NOT BOOK HERE!!! Believe me! I say it for your safety!!

The rooms are opposite a nightclub called Gorgeous. Open til 6am throughout the week which wasn't stated on website. At midnight the security were dragging metal barriers around to make a smoking area. Noisy and that's with window closed.The room wasn't as nice as pictures showed.I found bits of glass on the carpet, blood drops in bathroom door frame, lid on base storage on bed wasn't secured, toilet seat was loose and there was a lot of dust and bits on the top of headboard....which I wiped off at one end with a wet cloth. Old bottle of water in the fridge which we obviously left .Also neither me or my 9yr old could fit between the bed and window wall unless we held on to wall and walked sideways.If you want just somewhere to sleep and shower that's cheap it's fine. We won't be going again.

AVOIDIf I could leave 0 stars I would.We booked this ‘suite’ for a one night stay tomorrow night & the gig/concert we were going to has been cancelled and the owners will not let us rearrange our booking for next month when the gig has been rescheduled for. We understand companies have policies, but this is totally out of our control and now they have lost our future interest in this property to stay at all, and we’re out of pocket. Even if we could pay a fee to rearrange that would have been fine. We have managed to get our money back from trainline no problem, with a £10 fee......but this place clearly is only after your money, not loyalty!!Rant over!

Avoid at all costs. Everything was dirty all over. Unfortunately no other hotels were available last minute. If my stay was longer than 1 night I would have counted my losses and gone home. Not to mention the death trap of a lift too. The apartment was close to New Street station, which was the only positive I can think of.

Arrived at the suites which were easy to locate. Arrived at the room which was filthy, surfaces were covered in powder and sugar coating . Dirty bathroom. Once we lifted up the sheets, we were mortified to see the grey covers coated in white soild stuff. All over the bed. Clearly the cleaner just pulled the sheet back over thinking nobody would look to see what they are climbing into.Communication with owner was easy. Changed the room which was clean but still wasn't clean enough. You really need to sack your cleaning staff.It's sad because the suits are absolutely stunning and in a fantastic location. Only reason I am giving a two star is because of the guy we talked to was quick, professional and understanding of the situation.

Advertised as a suite that contained a bedroom area, separate living room and bathroom. I can account for the bedroom and bathroom, but have yet to find the living area. Complained to property, who admitted false advertising but failed to offer anything for lying about their listing. Bathroom stinks like cigarettes too. Don’t bother booking.

Ladywell House Suites, Birmingham, B5 4BN. Nice clean rooms. Ideal for a visit to the theatre. Within walking distance, and secure NCP car park (NCP Horsefair, B1 1DW) near by too. Not much to look at from the outside, but was impressed on the inside! Bed's a shade small, but comfortable. I personally had a great nights sleep. Just don't expect the Ritz & you wont be disappointed. Bread (for toast) & cereal is provided in the room - together with a toaster, hair dryer, iron & tea making facilities. The TV has Netflix & Amazon Prime and is already signed in! On the way upstairs, we was greeted by a helpful pleasant bloke who told us how to enter our rooms, and that if we required anything - we only needed to knock on his door where he'd be only too happy to help. I would definitely stay again. As a word of warning, they do have a lift - but we very briefly got stuck in it! Use the stairs!
