Used to be quite a nice gym but since the Male changing rooms refurbishment started it has really gone down hill. The temporary changing rooms are disgusting, the only Male toilets are horrible. There's water everywhere from the pool and clear signs of rot and black mold setting in due to the damp. The gym has weights left out everywhere and broken equipment, the hot tub has a huge build up of dirt and grit at the bottom, the steam room door is broken and won't shut properly letting the steam out and the sauna is so small that can't fit more than 5 people. The staff are very friendly and helpful but for the price the facilities are awful.I would suggest going to the David Lloyd and getting better value for money.

Been a member for many years. The staff all seem friendly and I like the club feel, the familiar reception faces etc. There is a good range of PT staff each with their own style which is good. The changing rooms have undergone various changes but I'm still not a fan, but they will do...The gym is fairly comprehensive and the equipment is mostly in good order. The pool is nice steam room, sauna all good. The jacuzzi is more spa than jacuzzi and would be good if they could upgrade. If i could give one area to improve, it would be some better / high end barrys esq classes. Overall I'm pretty happy and would recommend, although not too much as I don't want it becoming to busy!

It is a great atmosphere for exercise and relaxation , i only joint the club last week ,gym area is very good standard for exercising machine also the swimming pool and sauna , only i noticed lack of supervising on sauna , i noticed today on my 4th visit to this establishment that a girl with full outfit of gym sitting in dry sauna. the amazing point was , she was sitting in dry sauna with Training sport shoes and sock , which is not healthy at all , i hope the management pay more attention on this part of facility , Hygiene should be really taken care. otherwise i really enjoyed the gym.Thank you for all effort and all staff.

Gym is alright, has decent equipment and is always clean. But can do with some better equipment. Pool area is nice to. Female toilets are always dirty!Membership is very expensive for what it is.Only a couple of workers are nice and welcoming.

The gym area is a decent size, however is extremely busy even more so at peak times with the amount of members that attend. It can be a real struggle to get on the weights equipment you want such as the cables machines where they clearly need more. When you get on them you feel uncomfortable as there’s a queue of people waiting after. I think for the price they charge there shouldn’t be long waits for equipment. Otherwise, they have improved the range of equipment which is good but always could keep adding more ocassionally rather than waiting every few years. Changing rooms are ok but again you’d expect more for what you pay.

Poor poor poor!I’ve been here for less thaan a month and I guess I joined at the wrong time…1) It’s been two weeks and Steam room is broken! I asked the receptionist when it would be fixed and they said “honestly not sure”… Finding it hard to believe the parts have even been ordered..2) Men’s drying machine is broken today. These kind of things are essential…3) Gym is always busy on weekdays, very hard to get a machine..As frequent reviews explained, the place has become very dirty and paying over £100 a month, I’d rather go back to my old gym… I went inside the jacuzzi and i was stepping on dirt it was disgusting!

Don’t join this gym! The quality has dropped tremendously, it used to be a really good gym but now it’s too busy! Way too many people here - there is also mould growing on the ceiling. It has been like this for months now and I’ve been going here for 2 years. Simply unacceptable - cancelling and going elsewhere.

I’ve been a member at the Village gym for many years and feel like the standard has really dropped in the last year or so, in particular with customer service from the front desk staff. The most basic membership is still over £80 a month and I don’t think the service reflects the premium price charged.Ellis Esmond at reception is really rude, abrupt and lacks any politeness that’s needed in a customer facing role. She shouldn’t be on reception if she doesn’t know how to talk politely to clients (more than happy to provide the specifics on this to management) and flat out lied that she was the manager when I asked her, even though she wasn’t.Other than the poor customer service, the quality of facilities has gone down over the years - mould on the ceiling, broken equipment or equipment that hasn’t been upgraded in years, certain showers that are running cold water only, classes that are overly packed and even though Dyson hairdryers have been fitted most of them don’t even work or have been stolen! For the price Village gyms charge, better quality should be provided. Also I think it’s ridiculous if you forget your wrist band for the lockers you have to pay £2.50 everytime for a new one and there’s no other option (according to Ellis at reception) - given the prices the gym charges I don’t think it’s unreasonable for clients to have an alternative (like leaving £5 or a driving licence when you borrow a band) when a genuine mistake is made. It just feels like they want any excuse to squeeze money out from you and apparently this is Village wide policy!Overall disappointed as did use to love the vibe at the Village Watford!

Honestly took me a while to get accommodated to the gym considering it is busy most of the time but it's not so bad depending on the time of the day you go. If you are someone who attends classes or goes swimming I'd 100% recommend it as these facilities are excellent. Only downside is the slightly small weight training area as there are only 5 benches in total to use for dumbells etc. Once again going to this gym off peak hours is definitely worth it and if you don't mind waiting for equipment its also decent.
