Hi, I did my basic training here with 157 regiment 237 squadron Royal Corps of Transport hard work but great fun this was back in 1978 I ended up as a B1 Corporal driving Fuel Tankers throughout the UK and Europe refuelling every thing from motorbikes to aircraft very interesting and exciting and something I am very proud of i worked with some great people and made a lot of good friends, some still keeping intouch. Unfortunately it all came to an end when we were rebadged to the R L C and lost our role as tanker drivers to driving container lorries just not the same but the memories I have will stay with me to the end.

We had a great weekend at the Barracks which was once the training station for WRAF. Many of us returned to the then RAF Spitalgate to enjoy the memories of years ago. Thanks to all the staff who made this possible and for their assistance throughout plus the catering staff who fed us very well.
