The Royal George
Went at 11:05pm and asked if they do takeaway pints(takeaway cups). They said they do but when I reached the counter and asked again, staff said they’re all closed. He then changed his mind asking me what I wanted, then changed his mind again saying ‘actually sorry we’re closed’.Clearly there were still a lot of customers sitting around and the pub closes at 11:30pm. There were still plenty of time before closing. Very disappointed and won’t be going again.

Quiet evening with enough good company and plenty of sports on multiple TVs. Will visit again. I didnt go to eat, so can only rate, politeness of bar staff and speed of service, which was both good and 5-star worthy

Great place to have a break and a cold beer. Very cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Fantastic.

Food was good and the prices reasonable. We met up with friends before seeing a play at the nearby Gate venue.

Nice and cheap but we decided to order food. Here is a photo of the chicken platter with bits of charcoal that they called buffalo chicken wings. 2 friends had burgers that they were not impressed by as well but the guy who had the rump steak said he enjoyed it. It's ok for a cheap drink but I wouldn't recommend the food there.

A passable pub with typical bland student decor. Quite bad coffee. Usually just nip in for a token glass of something to use the bathroom facilities.
