My absolute fave restaurant in London - big, juicy, orangey olives; inventive cheese & caper salad; melt in the mouth jamon; and of course - impeccable pan con tomate that I could happily eat every day for the rest of my life if I had the cash to. Highly recommend for a boozy lunch in the centre of town

Excellent food in a very relaxed atmosphere. Didn't book but they still found us a table. Very good service.

Delicious selection of tapas. We had the mint with peas, octopus and our favourite, the lamp cutlets. Maybe a bit too much sauce with the peas and octopus, but that didn’t matter too much.Desserts, tasty.Great service.

Amazing authentic food- I am vegetarian but was told the ham was amazing! The tomato bread and lentil salad was also delicious. Decent price for the quality of food and pretty good portion sizes. Also even though it was quite busy the service was rather fast. Will definitely come back here again if given the chance.

Classy setting in the Senate room. Enthusiastic service and interesting range of Spanish quick bites. Excellent cheese board. Wine menu well chosen. Disappointing Basque cheesecake.

Sensational food - easily the best tapas I've had in London. Possibly even better than I've had in Spain.I think there was just one thing on the menu that I didn't want to order...the choice was too good. The potato salad with confit tuna belly was just exceptionally gorgeous, creamy and a real delight. Also I loved the prawn fritters and the aioli they came with.Service was really good too - though they could have thrown the food at me and told me I'm ugly, and I still would have loved it here.

This place oozes charm, elegance and comfort. And by osmosis you are guaranteed to feel charming, elegant, and comfortable yourself. The massive ceilings, the large windows that inundate the room with light, and the beautiful decor create a very pleasing setting… a perfect casing for the treasure discovery that is the food. The spicy prawn fritters, cheese toast with honey, slow cooked Aubergines, and decadent pecan tart, are absolutely succulent, and all very likely to draw a few moans here and there.

I'm a fan of Pizarro's other place in Bermondsey, where the dishes really allow the high quality produce to shine. At the RA, the atmosphere is undoubtedly pleasant and refined, with beauty all around, but the dishes left me underwhelmed overall. An excellent gazpacho was accompanied by a less enthusing pan con tomate (not very bright tomato) and a disappointing, tough cured mackerel. Sliced 5 Jotas was good of course, but at 500 pounds per Kilo I wonder about value for money, A dish of quail with very little to eat in it was OK, and so was one of carrot and cheese, while their famed Basque style cheesecake was no match for the best you can find elsewhere. The waitresses who served us were friendly and efficient, while what looked like the manager was inattentive and excessively relaxed and not on the ball.Prices are high, in my opinion, for the rather dull experience. If you want to try Pizarro, go to Bermondsey and when visiting the wonderful RA, for a meal go for one of the numerous options options in the vicinities.
