Stopped for a late lunch and drinks in the middle of a walk. The ferryman's lunch and the fish and chips were delicious. Our dog was welcome with some shaded seating and plenty of water bowls and a tap to fill up. Dog treats were given to the pup by the staff. Lovely location right by the river.

Booked for lunch. We enjoyed the bar area that allowed Polly to join in.The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was excellent and the beer was good too. The location is lovely and was buzzing on a warm and sunny on a late September day.

Out on an MTB ride we wanted a coffee and a piece of cake and both were excellently satisfied. Obviously most people there have walked or driven there for lunch and they all seemed happy enough to me. The staff were friendly and attentive, the coffee was rather good and a decent mug full. The cake, well it was a fruit cake, what's not to like. We'll be back!

Loved it here although it was a brief visit! Very nice view along the Wye Valley, and from here you can get a one-man powered ferry across to Wales for just £2! From there you can do a circular walk and end up back at the pub for a well-earned pint or even a meal.

Brief overnight stay here and wished we could have stayed longer. Location is fabulous, the staff were very helpful and friendly, the breakfast was superb, the room was very comfortable and very well presented and well equipped very high standard finish with beautifull view over the river. Free parking and amazing walks from the doorstep and river activities.

We came to the Scaracens Head after a walk up the river and back. The food and drinks selection was really good. We sat outside under the cover and admired the view even though it was pouring with rain. The staff were really friendly and helpful. We'd definitely go back if ever in the area.

The service was excellent here. The setting is beautiful and on a warm, dry evening, it's a lovely place to sit by the river with a G&T or your preferred tipple. The staff were exceedingly accommodating, and nothing was too much trouble. My only reason for giving four stars is that I asked for steak medium rare, and it was a little overdone and with no sauce.

Had a long walk from the Bracelands campsite so arrived ready for a drink, despite being late October we comfortably sat outside and enjoyed the sunshine and views. Very friendly staff happy to guide on drink choices, tried a couple of great ales. Inside there were more seating options and a toasty fire with covered seating outside too. Watched a kingfisher fishing and plenty of nature then walked back to the campsite. Great pub and would definitely recommend.

We only stopped for a few drinks on our walk but the service was friendly and efficient. Bar and toilets were clean. Sat outside on the water front in the sunshine. Dogs were very welcome with plenty of clean water bowls. Will definitely return for some food as it looked delicious. We caught the hand ferry across and were very impressed as the operator came to us straight away which is not to be said for the ferry further down at the other pub where we waited so long we gave up and came back to this pub for another pint!!
