Roath House Surgery

I had been 18 years in surgery , this visit was really disappointed with doctor who not deal with my serious condition in right way ,I found it not helpful not understanding , not diagnosed the body , not happy at all

Brilliant. First time using this practise but everyone I spoke to was polite and kind and really helpful. Given an same day emergency appointment with no hassle.

This was my last GP and though getting through on the phone could take a long time I always found the reception staff nice to deal with. I had blood tests done and to get the results I had to be available for a phone call rather than the results being emailed or left in a voice message but that's pretty standard. Loads of services available. The waiting room is a decent size but a bit boring. :)

I literally don’t know how people can write bad reviews about this place. Reception team are lovely, always polite, very helpful, always willing to have a conversation on arrival and over the phone. One lady in particular has made me laugh on more than one occasion. Yes they ask you what the problem is over the phone because they let the doctors know so they can triage, no they definitely do not think they are qualified, they are just doing their job. I have experienced bad receptionists and these are not at all.The doctors and nurses are also really helpful, persistent in trying to get to the root of a problem and you feel like the problem has not been ignored after your appointments.The surgery itself is so clean, well decorated and just makes you feel so comfortable.Would recommend this place to anyone.Just remember to treat other people the way you would want to be treated :)

Excellent care and atmosphere. My experience has been extremely positive each time that I've been to this surgery over the last few months. The doctors have gone above and beyond my basic needs, and the receptionist is always very warm and welcoming to everyone. I recommend this surgery to anyone new to Cardiff.

This was my surgery for a couple years after I moved to Cardiff, I’ve never had any issues with the doctors and nurses, they were always really helpful and sorted me out straight away. However when I last went in my appointment itself was fine, but when I rent to reception too book my next one and change my address on the system they very abruptly told me I was no longer in the catchment area for the surgery (I was out of it by one street) this was the first time I’d ever even heard of a surgery having a catchment area. This was very upsetting for me as this was the only doctors surgery that I’ve felt like I’ve been treated fairly and been listened to. Since then reception staff have treated me rudely (regarding outstanding appointments) prescriptions haven’t been put through and it’s just overall been very unpleasant. I suffer with fairly moderate anxiety and this entire experience has reignited all my worries around the doctors and not being listened to.

Nice walk up to the location. No issues finding the place. Easy to use touch screen to advise them I was there and on time. Clean waiting area and not a long wait. Of course there were loud children and an even louder mother but that's not the locations fault. In and out as expected and all advised done. Can't say I hope to be back but if I am, I'll no reservations about it.

Super friendly staff. Walked in requesting an urgent appointment and I had one within the next 2 hours.Got treated by a lovely nurse who fixed my issue within 15 minutes.Nothing bad to say about this and the 1 star reviews saying the staff weren't nice were likely mean themselves!This place is definitely recommended.

Most useless GP surgery I have ever come across. You have to ring dead on 8 to get an urgent appointment, if you actually can!!! Non urgent appointments you can only book 3 weeks in advance and you have to ring at 2pm otherwise you can’t get one.So for a simple blood test it’s taken 3 weeks for me to get an appointment to see a dr to ask for them, 3 weeks for the nurses appoint to have them and it’ll be three weeks + before I can have my results! And this is for something serious!!This surgery is an absolute joke!!! And it’s not just down to Covid and the state of NHS they’re just absolutely useless!!

If there was an award for best surgery in Cardiff, Roath House surgery should receive it!! As a student I have moved around Cardiff a lot, and had at least 3 different surgeries… this is by far my favourite!! Very organised, professional and the most kind and supportive staff! The reception staff, doctors and nurses are all amazing, thanks for your service.Only wish all surgeries were like this
