Jean was an absolute pleasure to work with. He was on time, friendly, polite, and kept the house neat and clean while he worked. Besides installing the stove (and putting 13 meters of pipe down a very tall chimney), Jean also did a great job tiling and repairs to 4 fireplaces. Definitely hire him for complicated jobs, as he has many different building skills and is a good problem solver. Overall one of the very best tradesmen I've worked with.

We engaged Jean to remove an old faux hearth and to replace it with a new one of our design. He also installed a Stovax Studio 1 wood burner and flue. Jean arrived when he said he would and did the work within the time promised. The installation was exactly to specification and my wife and I are very happy with the result. Jean is clearly well versed in his trade and we recommend him.

I had a quote from Jean that was much more than expected for installing a wood burner. He said he was happy to answer questions, yet when I contacted him he was extremely rude to me. He was clearly overcharging by about £800 and accused me of not doing research (I'm a scientist...) and grabbing prices of the internet randomly. I was actually looking at the supplier he recommended and finding his quote to be nothing like the cost of the items on their website. He was also trying to charge me for items we already had and refused to answer my questions regarding HETAS regulations. When someone wants nearly £2000 for a job they should expect to provide some customer support rather than say 'I don't foresee myself doing your installation as it seems to me you think I am just another builder trying to make a huge profit'. This is exactly what he is and I advise others stay away.

10/10 experience, we had jean come to install our log burner, he was able to fit us in at such short notice, he was so nice and great to chat with, gave us some tips and pointers!! Couldn’t recommend him enough, he went the extra mile!! Will definitely be using him again in the future for our chimney sweeps
