Have always found the people here so helpful and friendly. The shop itself well set out and in good order. Also great that you get informed the money raised from your donations. Defeats the object to request any of it when it's offered back but great they do this and you never know as circumstances change for people.

Awful experience in the shop today, 12.15pm on 18th March 2022. I realise the shop is probably staffed by volunteers, however I really don’t think it’s an excuse for the level of rudeness and unprofessionalism I witnessed today. There was a lady ‘training’ up a new member of staff and I was simply horrified by her attitude. She was incredibly rude to the lady repeatedly, belittling her in front of customers. I can only presume she was the manager of the shop and I was gobsmacked by the way she treated customers during this ‘training’ session.I understood there are rules that need to be followed and shops can’t take things they won’t or can’t sell, however there was a lovely old gentleman that came into the shop to donate and the rude and abrupt manner the manager spoke to him was unforgivable. Sadly it wasn’t a one off! Once he left she was openly rude about him, explaining to the new staff member that they don’t take rubbish. The lady rightly tried to stand up for the customer, explaining she had brought the item we wanted to donate recently… The manager cut her off in a stern and unnecessary way.I should have learnt my lesson as I asked an innocent question whilst paying for my items, enquiring if they knew if they had any maps in stock. You’d have thought I’d asked if they sold the Crown Jewels! The manager rudely explained I should look on the shelves and it wasn’t her job to find my items!I am a school teacher and saw a lovely basket of buttons which I knew the children would love so enquired about there cost as they were not labelled. I was huffed and puffed at, making me feel like a being a bother! The buttons were 5p each and I didn’t have the time to count them all out so offered £30 for the lot, a generous offer as I’m sure there were less. She absolutely refused and told me she didn’t want to sell them all because people liked to rummage in the basket for the right button!I mistakenly thought the shop was trying to raise funds for the charity!I’m amazed by her attitude and felt so sorry for her colleague, I honestly think she needs some training.
