We were really pleased with our stay at Greenland House. The lady who welcomed us (sorry I forgot the name) was so kind and friendly. We directly felt at ease. The place is beautiful and clean. Our room was very large, cosy, clean and confortable. We also took our breakfast the morning and it was very good. It’s easily my favorite hotel in the area.

One of the best welcomes we’ve received on our trip! On arrival we were greeted by Lynn who was extremely friendly and offered us a dram.We stayed one night in a room with a double bed. The room and bathroom were a very good size and were nice and clean. The bed and pillows were a little soft, but that’s a personal preference. In the morning we had the full Scottish breakfast which was delightful!

Really enjoyed our stay at Greenland, we had the smallest room as the others were booked up already! Black Out blinds were a nice touch for this time of year! Lovely breakfast served at timed sittings in the dining room. Nothing was too much trouble.

Reception: Wonderfully evocative country bank house B&BThe reception from the host (Lynn) was the best I've received on my journey round Scotland so far.Made us feel really welcome, even offering a wee dram of the good stuff on arrival. Very informative about the location and the town in general..5 stars..Room: Very well proportioned room with excellent facilities. Well worth the price at £90.My wife constantly berates the lack of lighting in or around the dressing/make up area's, and this would be the only criticism she would've made.Restaurant: Nice quaint tea room serving cooked breakfast.Choices were good and portions were more than adequate.Cooked breakfast was tasty and hot and service was prompt and very friendly.Overall: A gem of a place with an absolute Gem of a host. Sometimes you come across places that for their people, and this is one of them.Even though this place is off the beaten track (apart from the NC500 that is) you would make the trek to stay there as Lynn is the consumate host.Absolutely 5 stars..

Didn't meet expectations, room was very cold, heating wasn't on when we got up and it was snowing outside. Old pipes were very loud.

An amazing place to stay in Castletown either as a relaxing B&B stay or as a base of operations for outdoor activities in the greater Caithness area.We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Greenland House, it was well kept, warm and inviting. Our hosts were courteous and informative, letting us know of nice local places to eat and great sights to see. They were also attentive and discreet. The rooms are stylish and kept clean to a very high standard, the bedding is incredibly comfortable and the complimentary teas, coffees, shampoos etc are a nice touch. The breakfasts are prompt and delicious and all of your needs are catered for whether vegetarian or carnivore. There is ample guest parking inside the gates of the property. We will definitely book into Greenland House again if we are staying in the area. Thanks again!

Stayed for 1 night, we wish it could have been more, Victoria kindly fitted us in last minute of which we were very grateful for..the house is beautiful, the rooms are large & comfy. Breakfast was delicious too. Castletown is a lovely small village with a very good restaurant close by..we preferred to stay outside of JOG & Wick, so this was just perfect for us. We highly reccommend & we will definitely stay again.
