Hertz Car Hire - Plymouth - 21b Commercial Road

I've recently had a handful of rentals from Hertz Plymouth and they've been fantastic.In the past my experience with rental companies hasn't been the best, so I'd usually just drive my own car. However recently my employer has booked me several hire cars for commuting.The drops offs are always early, the cars are immaculate and the customer service has been top notch. Chris is always incredibly helpful and has made the rental experience pleasant and easy.Cannot recommend enough, absolutely changed my opinion on rentals!

Really happy with my experience. I get quite anxious doing things like this but I had to as I had bought a new car which wasn’t ready. Booking it was easy and cheap, I had the car for 4 days for £99. When I went to pick it up the lady was lovely, talked me through everything and then away I went. They took a £200 deposit which I got back. I also got a better car than I had booked. Really great experience overall. Would recommend.

Chris and Sara at Hertz Plymouth get more than 5 stars. The service provided to us was excellent - September 2023. Hertz online reservation did not reach their Plymouth office in time (this was during the rail strike,) and Chris and Sara went above and beyond to help us. Thanks to them we were able to continue our holiday and enjoy it. I highly recommend this office. As a Hertz gold member and presidents circle member, I’d have to say their customer service was the best I’ve experienced. Thanks Hertz Plymouth!

We came all the way from Australia and we’re suppose to pick up our vehicle on a Saturday morning after booking a month in advance, the office was closed with no contact number. There were 3 other people in the car park also waiting for service! When we returned on Monday there were 2 staff there who then told us staff were sick and we had no car! We had to drive an hour to Exeter to hire another car which cost us more money! No car for the entire leg of our trip! Hertz, do you any idea the damage you cause to peoples holidays? DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY ..

Avoid this business if you want to save yourself any hassle! 2 stars as the staff at this office are friendly and I had no issues with the car. However, Hertz as a business is shocking. I've been in a battle to get my £246 fuel deposit back for the past 2 weeks. You cannot talk to anyone to resolve issues, phone calls go from machine to machine. Live chat is never available and email responses are generic. I returned to the office where they sent an email, and still no action.

Booked and paid for a car online. My husband ran 4 miles to pick up the car only to be told that no cars were available. Apparently, their booking system can’t cope with same day booking! Really? Surely it’s not too difficult to have a system that knows whether or not they actually have a car or not, happy enough to take money for a service they were not able to provide.

After booking the car in advance on the economics car online site, the car was not there on the day of collection! We were told that due to a booking platform error there were no cars available. crazy! Paid £18 to booking reservation the car online which after reporting several times to the economics car online site have still not been able to tell me an answer as to what might have happened and that the Refund was not possible before hearing from the Plymouth car seller.. to date, after 10 days still no response. Scammers agree. shame on you! Stay away.

I was browsing the hertz website and it asked me to put dates for when I might need a car so I did the dates but at no time did i make a booking for a car. I certainly didn't go to checkout as i was only browsing. Today i received an email from hertz with details of how and when to pick a car up and a confirmation number. I called to ask why they sent this and was told its for your booking. As I told her i did not at any time book or reserve a car so why has this got to this point. Be very careful when dealing with this company as it seems that they see browsing as booking!

DONT RENT WITH THIS HERTZ LOCATION!! THEY RUINED OUR VACATIONI took my family for a long weekend trip to Cornwall and we had booked a car to be picked up from this location almost two months in advance. Unfortunately, when we arrived the place was closed and after reaching out to customer service and spending two hours in the phone and lots of money in long distance calls we were not able to convince anyone to come deliver our car. The manager said it was a long weekend and he couldn’t come, I guess he was having too much fun.Our trip was dependent on having a car to go around the different towns in Cornwall and being a long weekend we were not able to find a replacement. We were extremely disappointed as Hertz had all our contact information to let us know they were going to close the location and unable to deliver our car.

Hertz Plymouth’s super-friendly staff treated me to an upgrade to a very fine Polestar EV. If you’re curious about the future of cars, I recommend you give it a try. The electric car comes with a fob that will allow you to recharge at Shell stations without any hassle. Of course, you can also use any other charger.My hotel offered a destination charger (free of charge), so I was actually able to drive way out west of Cornwall (& back) without ever visiting a charging station: the car was charged on the spot a few hours after I arrived.(A fast Shell charger will charge it in 15-30 minutes)Kudos to Hertz for easing EV adoption. Once you’ve tried an EV, gas cars will feel like a rotary phone. Wanna bet?I’ll be back!
