I wandered up to the summit to operate my portable radio as part of the Summits On The Air (SOTA) programme. There are potentially good views from the summit but it was very hazy on the day I visited. Parking is free but it could do with a sign advising folk how to park to make the most of the limited space.

Truly Outstanding place to visit. The views from the top are amazing from the highest point looking over Somerset and Devon.Wear good walking boots.Good parking at the bottom if you're lucky to get a space.

Fantastic views. Take care and wear something warm. Unless you have a 4x4 or you're very careful I'd probably suggest not trying the road down to Luccombe / Horner if it's wet. Better to travel up the hill from Wooten Courtenay.. Enjoy.. Cheers

Magnificent place with all kinds of weather within an hour. Children aged 5-8 managed the walk up to the Beacon from the car parking but grumbled moderately on the way down. Cold and windy at the top.

Great views across Exmoor and not that far from the car park

It's a pretty easy climb, nothing too taxing or vertical. Obviously you get nice views from the top. The purple heather makes it a distinctive summit from the surrounding farmland.

Nice steady walk to some spectacular views on a clear day. A few miles away is the Royal Oak pub. If you are feeling adventurous, you can walk from the pub and back. Pictures from a beautiful March day.

Lovely walk . If you go past the main car park . There is a lay by at the top of the hill . That's the easiest way of getting to the beacon.
