This is a very large and potentially taxing walk for the older section of wildlife lovers. My wife and I managed about half of the butterfly trail, which was mostly a wooded area, with a small crossing of a multi-grassland field (very pretty). Our entry point was from the North-East point, which had room for about six cars parked off road. Just a question for others who have visited. Is there anyway you can post a photo of the area on a map, where the water with large stones in it. I would love to go there to take some photos but have no idea where the closest parking spot is. For those who like to take a camera, a close-up lens for the insects is needed but there are plenty of opportunities for wider shots of the woods. The paths were mainly dry, but I would imagine after a couple of days of rain there might be a problem for some. I've posted a few shots I made on what was a very sunny day.

Lovely woodland for a walk. Very quiet, only passed a couple of other groups. We took our dogs and they enjoyed it. Lots of level pathways and views into the woodland. Plenty of wildlife. A few different areas around the woodland to park. There's two signposted walks - bluebell path and butterfly path. We walked the butterfly path today and it's name is fitting!Do check your dogs after visiting though, as we have found quite a few ticks in their fur after visiting (which is to be expected!)

Very nice place to go for a walk and picnic. Remember to take your swimwear so that you can have a dip in the stream

Nice surprise finding this walk through the woods. The butterfly path was unattended in some areas, extremely narrow and full of plants with thorns that scratched us and the children, so get some wellies and long sleeve shirts at least. Have seen dozens of different types of butterflies. Cannot wait to return.

Enjoyed a short walk around here with camera in hand. Within minutes of being there I spotted some kind of muntjac/deer walking across the path in front of me. Very peaceful place.
