Beautiful stunning location with amazing food and great service.It is on the higher end on the costs side, but the prices are all there to see before visiting the restaurant.I ordered fish and chips, partner ordered burger and chips. Finished it off with an Irish coffee, herself a tea and a brownie dessert which came to under £90 which is on the dearer end but worth it to end a night at the shambles.Overall would recommend to anything visiting York shambles.

We came here for our anniversary dinner during our weekend stay in york, I was completely blown away, Working within the industry i can say this is a must visit location,Our server for the evening charlote was fantastic every step of the way she is an astounding credit too the buisness. working us through the started and minor queries of dishes with ease and a warm smile. Far beyond the service that is usually recieved on such matters.The FOH manager was an absolute star as well but sadly did not get his name you sir deserve a medal, The team seemed very relaxed and in control of their environment.Our starters where superb, My Prawn starter was the best ive had, from many resteraunts around the globe.The steaks where astonishing, My partner has only just started lking steak and is now in love with Cut and Crafts cuts of steak,I simply cannot recomend this enough. We will be coming back. and have already begun suggesting this to friends and family and making arrangements with them to go .Do not Miss this Wonderful Experience

Visited on a Saturday evening after seeing some pictures of the cocktails online. Originally we were sat on a table directly adjacent to the kitchen which wasn't great as there was a constant stream of staff passing close by and it was far too hot and noisy, after asking to move they sat us on a nice table elsewhere. The flat iron steaks seemed to be popular, looked great and were well priced. Our waiter explained what a flat iron was as we werent sure, he was really friendly and knowledgable. We went for fillet steaks which came quickly and were cooked as requested. The peppercorn sauce was fantastic and the tenderstem broccolli was delicious. They do steins of beer and the cocktails were great. Menu had good variety. Was impressed with the service. Would return- would maybe try the flat iron next time as I've had similar quality fillets and paid less but it was delicious.

Had a meal on Saturday July 29July 2023. Love this restaurant, as always we had the flat iron steak. Good value for money , we shared sides,had Mac n cheese, broccoli, salad,onion rings and my favourite the creamy mash potato. The ambience is fabulous, the staff are fantastic,especially Abbie, the perfect waitress. Will definitely be back . 5 stars .

The venue is stunning compared to most in York city center. Only a handful can compete in aesthetics. The front of house was very friendly.In regards to food, excellent plating, looks great however the quality was very lackluster and considering the price it was also one of the more expensive venues in the city center. So definitely not a good point about the place.The table host was just doing their job, zero interaction. Although not unpleasant nothing pleasant either.

A nice place, but burger was average and too big. The egg had a skin on the bottom, which wasn't pleasant and the bun broke instantly. Great fries.Had meatballs to start, which were lovely, but the sauce didn't need to be spicy, would be even tastier if less or no spice.Staff were great, but this place was disappointing and expensive.

Stumbled across this restuarant whilst looking for a place to eat and was pleasantly surprised. The decor inside was very good and the food was amazing. I opted for a burger with pulled pork which was possibly the best burger I have ever had. The burgers all have double patties and are cooked to perfection. I was tempted to return the next day to try the ribs as they too looked very good. The portion sizes were reasonable (side of onion rings could be shared easily). For approximately £30 each we got 2x mains, 2x alcoholic drinks, a starter and water for the table which wasn't bad at all

Came here as it look very nice inside so beautiful and clean. We was sat to our table by a lovely lady. Our server Oscar was absolutely amazing and every time we asked for something or a question he was kind professional and attentive. We then asked for some drinks Bryn served us two baby Guinness and was so lovely he joined in our jokes and made us feel welcomed and enjoyed our time here. We then spoke to Will who was a delight to talk to and a brilliant member of the team we felt welcomed and made us really enjoy our experience, he was enthusiastic and kindhearted. The food was amazing and will definitely be coming again!

Absolutely stunning venue, when you walk in it smells beautiful. A really ambient atmosphere and the staff are lovely. We had fish and chips and fillet steak with mushroom starter and meatball starter. I can’t explain how divine the flavours were. So much effort has been put into every part of this place. Worth every penny.
