Our initial contact was positive, following transfer of our accounts from SSE, who we had never had any problems with, but things have gone rapidly downhill. Shorter customer service hours, calls being cut off mid flow and being unable to talk with an agent on the weekend makes resolving even simple issues problematic and frustrating. Our gas account was accidentally switched from direct debit to pay as you go and we were locked out of our online account when an agent accidentally overtyped our email address. The agents are trying their best and have been making notes each time we have called, so the one star is for that. When our accounts have been fixed we will consider a switch to another supplier, though we are hesitant due to a lack of faith in OVOs ability to deal with requests efficiently and correctly, and as such do not recommend this company. Update: all ok so far since problems were fixed. My advice to anyone reading this review is to check your junk email and the display on your smart meter, just in case you have had any adjustments made to an account without your knowledge

One star, don’t deserve that. Absolutely disgraceful service. Rude unhelpful staff. Transferred over from SSE, but they also taken over my gas supply without my permission. Got pay as you go electric meter yet they are sending me bills. Now in process of changing to another supplier. Buyer beware.

I have been with OVO for over five years now. I had switched from EDF because for a better price. My experiences with Customer Services have always been excellent. No problems with billing and when I requested some of my balance be returned it was done the same day arriving in my account two days later. Excellent service all round.Just reading all the negative reviews! Is this the same OVO???? My daughter was also transferred from SSE to OVO and thinks the same as me - a very well deserved excellent FIVE stars.

I phoned OVO energy to set up a new account A at my current renting place starting in Jul 2021 when I first moved in. This new account A was set up ok.At the same time, OVO energy also assigned my name to a closed energy account B with bills occured before my move in time. Then, OVO energy started to chase me for the debt on this closed energy account B.I WILL NEVER PAY FOR THE DEBT THAT DOESNT BELONG TO ME.Therefore, from Jul 2021 to Dec 2022, my days have been completely ruined by those theartening debt chasing letters with my name and address on it, and for a debt that doesnt belong to me.During this period, I have phoned and emailed OVO energy multiple times to try to resolve this issue, but I always get the reply We will look into it

Appalling company , awful customer service from multiple customer advisors. Nothing but problems with our smart meter since we moved from sse to ovo on Friday. Shame I have to give them a star at all.

Utter shambles of a company, over promising and under achieving, worst customer service I've Ever encountered. Same excuses like the classic were having problems with our system. Now the bloody phone number doesn't work!!!

The worst customer service experience I have ever seen. Even after waiting 15 minutes on the phone line for someone to answer, it gets disconnected. When they do finally respond, They are more than happy to blindly send you a new in-house display without understanding the issue even if you tell them you already got a new device. Multiple chats that I tried got cut by them abruptly without any confirmation . They say they will transfer to a new team and I have to start over the whole process again. What a mess!

This dreadful company turned the power off to our home on Monday for no reason and we have been told by them it was error on there side. 3 days later and still no power. Just blatant LIES that a a engineer who is on the way, we have now given up on there incompetence. Utter disgrace.
