I joined SmartWork umbrella organisation over a year ago. Neil Kane helped me with all my queries during the joining process and also while I was with SmartWork.The joining process was very smooth. The fees charged were reasonable. The portal used for submitting timesheets, viewing payslips is very clear and responsive.The payments were on time. They also provide contributions to private pensions for a nominal fee.Whenever I had any queries Neil & the compliance team were very prompt in responding over email or phone.I have no hesitation in recommending SmartWork.

I used SmartWork last year for my contracting work and was impressed with their services. Good experience with SmartWork for just over a year as a locum pharmacist.Update: My agency forced me to leave Smartwork due to an NHSP change and the agency payroll was less efficient than Smartwork and they got my tax wrong. Fortunately, I was able to re-sign with Smartwork and Ed Frost has been phenomenal and goes above and beyond. Never had an issue with Smartwork and I’m very happy to be back on their payroll. I used SmartWork as my umbrella company for a number of years woth many different agencies. They were always really transparent with fees, any financial advice and we're always super responsive with any queries I had. In comparison to other umbrella companies, SmartWork is by far the most efficient in terms of regular payruns, managing your tax and contributions and allowing you to just focus on work knowing everything financial is covered. Finally, hats off to Ian Marshall for being a consistent contact at SmartWork, always very responsive and a pleasure to work with.

I am a contractor and used Smartwork for over a year. They have been a fantastic umbrella body - quickly fixing any problems and paying me on time. My agent Neil Kane has been extremely proactive, responsive and helpful. Further the current pension offer by Smartwork is decent. I only left them due to my recruitment agent making me change my umbrella body.
