Princes Road Car Park

Small car park. very convenient for town centre and Wetherspoons. You can pay by app or cash. 9.00-6.00 every day about £1 an hour

Great place for coach drop & free coach parking. Drivers are met by wells city ambassadors with maps and money off vouchers for passengers. A driver with proof of he/she ( worksheet or licence) get a meal and drink at the bishops palace cafe.

Here's the lowdwn:Don't use postcode on Google to find directions, it took us down adjacent back lane, use Princes Road.We paid for 3 hours on the app as we didn't know how long we'd stay, but the 'Paybyphone' app would not let us extend the time, so we had to return to the machine and pay by cash (maybe because the car park was then full?).If you drive right throught this car park to the far righthandside, you enter another carpark which is a little cheaper, but cash only.The Gents' toilets here were boarded up.Car park is handy for centre attractions.

It's a car park! It was very busy but we did manage to find a space. Some spaces are narrow and it can be difficult to get in and out of the car.

mega busy at times. The little car park at the back (not sure if its part of the same place) has a pear/apple tree that is swarmed by wasps during summer. just be careful

Handy car park, as we stayed in a hotel in Wells which had no parking of its own (very common in Wells apparently). This seemed to be the only long stay car park we could find. It was quite easy, with online paying, to extend the time required. It's also a reasonable rate (in comparison to London anyway). There's a public loo (didn't use it) available and it's only a minute or two to walk to the main high street.

Small car park however the PayByPhone App is really good and when I went to extend my parking the next day, as I had done it before my current session expired (at start of opening), it allowed me to have the unused time from the day before for free and even have the extra three hours (6 hours to 9 hours) as if it was all one session. What would have been better is it doing this be default as it would have destressed my morning. Spaces were large enough though and it’s centrally located. There is an independent car park next to it which is sort of adjoining so make sure you get the Rick ticket for the right car park or you will be fined. There are big signs warning you of this but that only works if people read them… which they probably won’t.
