Just completed DaySkipper Practical. Outstanding instruction from a very experienced sailor (many thanks Lionel) - perfectly pitched to encourage/challenge. Very friendly setup - will def be returning for mile-builder weekends!

RYA Day Skipper:This was my second excellent course with Commodore (also did my Comp Crew with them pre COVID) and had an amazing week, racked up over 140 miles of great sailing and met some amazing people.Oli was an exceptional instructor with a deep knowledge and passion for sailing, was very professional, attentive and above all saintly patient; so when you make mistakes (which you will) they become a learning exercise that only leave you more confident and empowered to get it right the next time. If you can bend his ear, you should, he has a whole locker of inspiring experiences to share.The weather was kind (for October!), the sailing hugely fun but most thanks go to Oli, Will, Jamie, Jane, Mary :) and Toby for making this such an exceptional experience for Rufus and myself.Day Skipper gained but more importantly the skills and confidence for our next sailing adventure.

Did my Short Course radio theory online through Commodore and then sat the exam through them too. All very easy and professional with a kind atmosphere. Would recommend. Also did a mile building weekend (although I had to leave due to family emergency) and although the weather was a bit rough, I felt safe the whole time.

I've previously done RYA courses with Commodore and had a great experience.First UK charter and was expecting some difficulties due to covid-19 restrictions.Mayan Star (Bavaria 37 cruiser) was absolutely immaculate. Really clean and well maintained. Perfect for the 2 of us, but could easy have accommodated 6 adults. Handover was efficient, socially distanced and hassle free. The team were able to answer all our questions and made sure we knew how to reach them if needed.We could only have a day sail due to the current travel restrictions. Their Gosport location worked really well for this. Had an Easterly tide for the morning and so headed to Chichester. Tom and Jon were really flexible with letting us get the most out of our day, so we also squeezed in a sail to Bembridge (Duver marina) for a short stop, before returning the boat in the early evening.They kept an eye on the AIS and were already waiting to greet us, take lines and help us to moor up at the end of thd day.I've booked a channel crossing mile builder with them for after lockdown and can't wait!Would highly recommend for both charter and training!

I booked an RYA Day Skipper course with Commodore Yachting and was impressed with how friendly and professional they are. The moment I arrived I was greeted with a smile and handshake, more coffee than I could drink, and the guys were really friendly and chatty.Our Instructor Charlie was amazing! Really patient and knowledgeable, he made learning to sail enjoyable and fun. I struggled with a few of the skills needed, but Charlie explained clearly the best way to approach it all, and with his careful coaching I passed!I'd like to thank Jonathan, Tomos, Lionel and Charlie for being really helpful and friendly, answering all the questions I had and more.If you want a great sailing course, I'd heavily recommend these guys as they really care about their customers and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. I did the Introduction to Yachting course and found it eye opening and very useful.I had done 5 days in Malta on a Competent Crew course yet felt I had not been taught all I should .The 2 days training with Commodore Yachting was so much more detailed and taught so much more.I would highly recommend them to anyone wanting to learn to sail.

Fantastic Day Out, Immaculate Yachts, Great Staff - Highly Recommended!I arranged a corporate team building day at Commodore Yachting forthe day in August this year. Both myself and the team attending had an absolutely fantastic time. The staff in the office were a pleasure to work with, and our skipper/instructor for the day (Josh) was brilliant. The yachts are in an absolutely immaculate condition, very clean and well presented. All those heading out to sea were also issued with top notch life jackets and waterproofs too. Cannot recommend this company enough! It has certainly inspired me to book onto a day skipper course personally myself later on this year/start of next. Thank you Commodore Yachting!

I did the comp crew followed by day skipper week long courses over the summer. Had an outstanding time with comp crew serving as a refresher but meant I had a lot of the technical parts fresh in my mind. Day skipper was then a great week of nailing a lot of the skills and regulations. Instructors Simon and Josh were both great and came away feeling far more confident in handling and management of sailboats and ready for the next adventure.
