Nice small lake with nearby parking. Swans, ducks and alligators in the lake.

ThIs lake which was created when the Ashton moss was renovated to the commercial and retail area we see today.After its completion the lake was left for nature to take control of it,which it did. The lake is not owned or maintained by any club so it is free to fish.it has been stocked by local fishermen over several years and there is a good amount of various carp species which reportedly reach 30lb. The lake is very shallow and had a residential family of swans which make baiting up quite difficult.

It's easy to miss this small lake unless you know it's there. It's not huge but it's nice to have spaces for wildlife, so if you're in the area and we get a harsh winter, keep the birds in mind.

It is a most beautiful spot of the birds in all Tameside, not only in the Ashton Under Lyne. Located opposite to Metrolink Park and Ride Ashton Moss. There are swans, muscovy ducks, canadian gees and pleanty of other ducks habitats. This place is often visited by families with kids. Great place for observing the nature.
