Market Square Car Park

Car park is right in the centre of town, surrounded by local shops and a short walk to the beach .Plenty of parking spaces though can be really busy at times , it has a quick turnaround time though and spaces become available quickly .Free parking on a Sunday , one hour costs 50p and it’s a £1 for two hours , I have posted photos for perusal of the council notice board displaying its charges and penalties it will impose of certain rules it expects drivers to honour while parked at the facility .Stonehaven is a busy town that becomes even busier as tourists and day trippers descend to enjoy all it has to offer as the seasons change , the car park can feel like a bit of a maze during these times as visitors try to work out traffic flow etc, though it is well signposted .

Free on Sundays but you still need a ticket. Also first 30mins is free on other days. Ideal if you're just grabbing lunch from one of the nearby food stores. Greggs, fish and chips and Co-op all nearby.

Getting a space here is sometimes difficult, also the road markings are not very clear, so traffic is going in directions it shouldn't be. The ticket kiosk is too high to be managed if in a wheelchair like I am. Disabled spaces are usually full, which is good. The shops in the area are more or close together, so easy to visit most of them.

No problem parking in the mid morning, £1 for 2 hours, £3 for 5 - seems reasonable. Handy for most shops and a nearby toilet.

Handy for town centre, beach and harbour. The footpads and masked robbers of Aberdeenshire District Moneymakers, sorry, Council (ahem, ahem), are about to remove the 30 minutes free parking allowance thereby ensuring that aged people, collecting their free prescription medications from the chemist will now have to fork out £1 for the privilege...

Busy place, so parking can be awkward. Reasonable price with good central access to pretty much all of the shops.

Decent sized spaces with charging points. Reasonable charges. Parked cars often take more than a single space. Large vans often here too.

There’s a little train bus that goes from here to some tourist sights like Stonehaven beach, Dunnotar Castle, Harbour and back to Market Square.

Looks busy but actually there is a high turnover of local people just turning up for a quick spot of shopping, so spaces quickly become available. Parking cost is good value in my opinion.

Good for parking while your EV is charging (type 2, 7kW). Lots of places to visit and walk around in this seaside fishing port.
