My husband received hip replacement last week, and he is currently staying in hip fracture unit at St Helier hospital. All the doctors, nurses, physio therapists and occupational therapists, cleaners and chefs are so hard-working, polite and so kind to him. They always cheer him up while they are so busy with their work. They are so amazing. Every food they provide him looks yummy too. I can't thank them enough.

Thought that going to St Helier A&E might be a better experience than Croydon University Hospital however it ended up being the worst anyone can ever imagine. Not only They haven't got the competent staff but lying straight to your face that you will be seen shortly. 5 hours after my blood was taken i did not hear anything. At one point everyone that was sat in the lobby was just sitting and waiting. For over 2.5h hours NOBODY was called. After 7 hours of waiting i decided to leave to which the nurse warned me that i was going against a medical advice - which was what again???? Absolute joke the NHS has turned into. Sadly we will be paying the overpriced private hospitals in order to get our matter looked into. On top of everything all of the junkies were gathered inside sleeping in all corners police officers came in roughly 5 times bringing in people and did not even tbink of getting them out. Stinky, dirty and not even close to good hygiene place. Avoid and go to the next nearest. Might be lucky but i doubt - NHS must be retired and peoples taxes refunded to the last penny.

Very efficient, paediatric A&E had my son seen, x-rayed and heading home within 2 hours. Might have been longer had bones actually been broken and if they were busier. Thankful none the less.

This place is absolutely hectic, but the quality of care has always been top. I was advised to go to their A&E back in February by 111. It was so busy, but how rushed they were was not reflected in the way that everyone I spoke to made me feel they had time for me and listened to what I was saying.Following that visit I was admitted to the surgical assessment unit. Again, incredibly hectic but they still had time for everyone. Time to listen to us all, to comfort people, to make sure we were all okay and to keep us all informed. The nurses here work such long hours and some people are incredibly rude to them but they still carry on being wonderful despite all that. I felt that they went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and were incredibly kind and respectful. At every stage, I felt I was well informed and knew what to expect from both nurses and the surgical team. Not only that, but they did the same when providing very high quality after care over a few weeks, this unit is full of wonderful, amazing people who genuinely deserve a raise and a holiday. I had some great advice that really helped.Even visiting the consultant for the post surgery check up was smooth- he’s a really nice guy, made sure I knew and understood all the possible outcomes and what to expect and the appointment was absolutely bang on time. All around incredible care from everyone I’ve interacted with here, what I was there for was not pleasant and was the most painful thing I have ever experienced but everyone who helped me made it so much more bearable. Thank you so much!

Disgusting treatment of elderly patient on discharge. Left in excrement for 3 hours. Came out with a chest infection she never had on arrival. Left catheter in, and provided no bags for carers to change. Treatment on ward good - but no care at discharge stage Left patient scared of hospitals!!

ENDOSCOPY. I had an Endoscopy procedure today. The waiting time was a bit long and miscommunication between reception and doctors/nurses resulted in delays for the patient. The receptionist needs to adjust his attitude towards patient when they are enquiring about something, he seemed bothered or very impatient when answering. The nurses were AMAZING. The ones that i can remember are Liz and Joanna.Liz is very patient and took time to reassure me and explain everything in details, i asked a lot of questions due to me being extremely nervous and anxious about the procedure. Joanna and her team again were super reassuring towards me and talked me through every bit of it, this made me feel so comfortable and also made me feel like i was genuinely being well looked after and cared for. I felt i was in really safe hands. The after care with Liz was again very pleasant. I want to say a big thank you to everyone in the Endoscopy department at St Helier. It definitely makes a huge difference for the patient to feel better. The Endoscopy department was very clean and hygienic. Thank you thank you and thank you.

What I experience in St helier hospital after I was referred from epsom hospital for emergency surgery, made me scared of nhs, nurses and care assistants don't give a damn, doctors are rude and will disclose your medical information to all the workers there, no information is kept private, you are treated as if you are rejected, after a surgey which nearly end my life on this earth due to their carelessness I went through hell in their hands, they cover up things, mess up with medication and lie, when you are discharged you will be discharged like a criminal. all they care about is their salary.

Nightmare / ordeal.Disgusting / slippery entrance to the Pathology ward. Crowded reception room and even had some criminals mixing with ordinary folks carefree. I felt a little intimidated.
