We looked at tiles in several showrooms before finding Mandarin Stone. We assumed it would be expensive, with showrooms in several upmarket towns. Very much the reverse - an interesting variety of patterns and styles at value for money prices. The showroom staff were all extremely friendly and helpful too. We laid the tiles ourselves and they look great.

AVOID at all costsWarning - don't fall for the fancy showroom and slick adverts in the magazines. We use their recommended tiler, who it seemed had never done marble tiles in his life. He took 1 week to tile 1.4 square meters, charged more than £430 for that and then left and never turned up, delaying our project by months. I found out that he had ordered more than double what he needed for adhesive and extras (at my cost) I assume to sell to other clients. 10% over is normal...but 200%? I regard that as suspicious. Also, be aware that the stone that arrives will look very different from the stone in the show room. Apparently 'variations are natural' and there are no returns allowed. Total rip off - avoid. Plus, when you try to complain, they are not interested. They have a high staff turnover, so the guy you start dealing with might leave half way through.

I used Mandarin Stone tiles in my last house & was extremely pleased with the quality. I visited the Tunbridge Wells showroom earlier this year to choose tiles for our new house & Sami was so helpful and patient, showing us lots of different combinations & options. The showroom has a huge variety of tiles & a big thanks to Sami for helping us with the order & quick turnaround.
