Just been for Sunday dinner with friends. Shirley's steak and Stilton pie is stunning server with mash, roast potatoes, lots of vegetable and Shirley's eternal gravy. The gravy is a local delicacy, all of her meat juices are kept in a large saucepan and added to continuously which make the richest and tastiest gravy you have ever tasted. Delightful lunch with chocolate and orange cheese cake and ice cream. Do not miss the George & Dragon for dinner or evening meals. Superb

Amazing food, absolutely delicious, great staff and atmosphere. Service is fantastic. Just had Sunday lunch and it was beautiful. Portions are very generous, you will never be disappointed here. If you have visited and enjoy Sunday lunch then please book through the week as all meals are homemade and absolutely delicious. Can’t fault it

Highly rated on the internet with an unusually huge amount of reviews, more than many famous places. Unsurprisingly doesn't live up to the promise, inoffensive locals pub, average fayre and quite expensive when you are outside offers. Disappointing

The food here is fantastic and there's plenty of it. It's all home made too. The service and the staff are all excellent. Try it, you won't be disappointed.

When you see the building you expect a nice village pub. When you walk in you get s city centre tap room. Sky sports always on. Bit cramp. Very very clicky. Some locals told me half the village don't use this pub as don't like and the other half are barred for expressing their opinion which made me chuckle. I can't recommend driving to this pub but if your staying within walking distance and can't be bothered heading bit further out then it's gonna do what it needs to do. So basically it does what you need. It could just do it better.

This is about 4 miles away from me, but is my regular place to go. The food is superb, as is the service. The staff are all really friendly and manage to keep the friendly professional approach at all times. The standard never dips, which is reassuring and the cleanliness is visible through the pub.

Eaten there on several occasions and the food (quality & choice) have always been good as well as the service. Portions are so big (too big for me) and value is therefore good. Wide range of real ale (especially when they do their beer festivals) which are well kept albeit a touch on the cool side for me.I've always been made to feel welcome by all that were there. Too far for me to go just for a drink as I'd have to drive but I would go if it was closer. I'm off their again with the extended family today.Opinion based on fact and 30yrs in the licensed trade.
