Its Sunday, in a country pub, with good old English roast beef, chicken et al, with all the trimmings and a great pint of Firebird Parody. Certainly adds comfort after last nights rugby.

This may have been a while ago, but Google has just reminded me I never put my review up.Whilst out mountain biking on Leith Hill, we always have lunch here. It is such a great little country pub that is always friendly, welcoming, warm and full of great beer and food.I believe they are connected to big smoke brewery which do great beers. I had the Citra Pale ale this time.They do a fantastic week day meal deal, 2 for 1 pizzas!!! And they are cracking pizzas. Would definitely highly recommend.We have also had a Sunday lunch here in the past and this was also great.One of my favourite local pubs this.

Lovely pub for a lunch break during a walk in Holmbury Hill. We had some aranchini in red Thai curry sauce, croque monsieur sandwich without ham, and red pepper, hummus sandwich with fries. Dessert was a delightful Bailey's Cheesecake.

Really lovely find! Very friendly staff, who accommodated a last minute booking and even made my fussy 5 year old a sandwich when he didn’t want anything from the children’s menu. My eldest, loved the kids fish and chips and will make sure we come back soon! We were helped on where best to go for a walk too. We will be back!

Seem to change manager and management every three months. Food can be good, but also not. Hard to keep track of. I wish them luck with their new manager. They need some consistency.

We thoroughly enjoyed a family birthday at the Royal Oak on Sunday. The atmosphere was welcoming and friendly; the table set up nicely before our party of 9 arrived; service was prompt, food delicious and portions ample. My homemade surprise birthday cake was even presented with style! I recommend the Royal as a good venue for any celebration.

Had a great lunch at the Royal Oak. We're a touring classic car club and we wanted a stop on the way down to the south coast. Dealing with Kizzie and Neil, we booked in advance and had reserved parking, private dinning and a great meal. Highly recommended for their attention to detail and personal service, we'll be back
