Cordelia's Pilates classes have really helped with my back pain and general fitness over the last 10 Years. When i joined my movement was very restricted and my back pain prevented me from doing the things i wanted to, and now i very rarely get any pain at all.Would highly recommend.

I've been attending Cordelia's classes for about two and a half years - in person and online. Although I've always done a lot of sport - basketball and cycling in particular - this is the first Pilates class I've done. I've found it's really helped increase my flexibility and maintain good core and better posture. The class is also good fun! Cordelia is really knowledgeable, explains things really well, and always has lots of good advice whenever, and wherever, you have aches and pains!

I have had many problems with my neck, lower back, upper back, knees - just about everything it feels like sometimes. I started with a couple of 121 sessions which gave me exercises to do every day, and I also go to class once a week. I have found Cordelia extremely knowledgeable and experienced in her work. I do gardening for a living and now in my late 50s it is getting physically demanding. However, this has greatly improved by doing pilates with Cordelia. I do not think that I would still be working if I had not sought her advice. She has coached me on best practice whilst working to protect my body from injury. During February, I was experiencing dizziness and after two weeks rang my GP who told me to ring again in March if it was not better! I did another 121 with Cordelia on Zoom and she gave me some excellent exercises which almost immediately solved the problem.

Cordelia helped me a lot several years ago when I had a painful lower back by giving me some one to one sessions and again more recently, I have also attended her weekly classes all these years which have been very beneficial and continued on line this past year. She always has helpful hints and makes classes fun. Definitely recommend joining her classes and one to one sessions if you have specific problems.

I have always enjoyed Cordelia’s weekly classes in person and over Zoom but her help over the last few weeks has been invaluable after I started to experience intense upper back and rib pain. She devised a series of daily exercises and advised on some simple adaptations to my home working environment. I am really grateful for Cordelia’ support and would highly recommend both her classes and 121’s.

I first developed back pain in late 1987 after experiencing a fractured disc, resulting in severe back pain and sciatica down one leg. I had a discectomy to remove the broken disc and had to have many months off work. In time, I was able to resume my work, but with many limitations and a few job changes. My back problems, restricted nearly all of my leisure activities. It is not much fun having constant back pain when I had hobbies such as gardening, going for long walks and cycling. Despite help over the years from physiotherapists, I was still severely restricted by the lack of movement in my back and neck.I was advised that my problems might become easier, if I could improve my posture and core strength after having had back pain for so many years. I was sceptical but was willing to give it a go, to increase my mobility, reduce my pain and give me back some quality of life. At my worst I was taking strong morphine based painkillers whereas now I have been able to reduce this to a milder painkiller to use when needed with a muscle relaxant alongside.I started Pilates back in 2017 with Cordelia, after looking for a form of exercise that I could actually partake in. I wanted to improve my posture and strengthen my core muscles to help reduce my increasing pain from various back operations. I joined with my wife and found Cordelia to be very professional and welcoming to any members who wish to join her classes. In addition, my daughter also had back problems of an entirely different nature and with some 1:1 sessions Cordelia was able to help her too.Six months after having my latest operation, in 2018 , I had a relapse. I was unable to walk more than 100m without having to stop and was also bent over when walking, where my body was obviously trying to go into a position where it thought it felt comfortable. After seeking more help from my consultant, I was diagnosed with a prolapsed disc, similar to what I had experienced before. After having a discussion with Cordelia, she recommended that I should begin to have 1:1 sessions with her, so that she was able to give me a personalised, graduated program. This would help to improve the symptoms of the prolapsed disc, and enable me to reduce some of my current medication. I then arranged my first 1:1 session with Cordelia, who took into account my historical medical history. After that, Cordelia created me a personalised 15 minute programme which was safe for me to follow in spite of my movement limitations, which I follow daily as well as attending the weekly group class. In light of the current Coronavirus situation, Cordelia has been fantastic, and is now running weekly Pilates classes on Zoom, which has been very accommodating as we would have been unable otherwise to attend the group and this way we can still all continue to maintain the benefits of Pilates.

I came to Cordelia Classes with a serious back injury awaiting surgery and could only walk for 5 mins at a time. She devised a very gentle routine of exercises along with a diet and massage plan. Slowly but surely over the next few months I began to get stronger, so much so that I no longer needed surgery. I am no longer in pain and able to walk for 2 hours at a time. If you are suffering back pain I really can’t recommend Cordelia highly enough.

I was recommended Pilates by a Physiotherapist who was treating me for knee pain when running. The assessment was that the knee pain was caused because of a weak core and that Pilates would help. I started Pilates in 2016 and my core strength has improved dramatically. I can now go running pain free. Through Pilates I have gained a much better awareness of my body and an understanding of the stretches I need to do to prevent injury. I thoroughly enjoy the classes. They are fun and we also get pushed to continually improve. Cordelia is very knowledgeable and is always willing to share this for the benefit of her students.
