The Majestic
The worst Chinese food I've ever had. We cancelled our main courses after the starters arrived - ribs so tough we couldn't cut them and inedible, unfilled dumplings with an acid vinegar dip. My wife ordered a glass of wine and whilst I'm not an expert, I wouldn't have guessed it was wine from the taste that I had. Nobody asked us why we cancelled our mains and our uneaten food was taken away without question or raised eyebrow. The restaurant was busy and everyone else there seemed happy chomping away under the high intensity LED lighting, but if you can't manage ribs or dumplings, I'm more certain that lots of people really don't get out much than I am that we were unlucky with what we ordered. We paid in full for what we were served and put it down to a lesson learned. We found another Chinese restaurant that evening and had a really nice meal there instead.

Won't be visiting this place again, booked a table for 12 people on Tuesday evening, noticed the blue light symbol on the door, informed staff 3 of us had blue light cards, and they said they will accept. When paying the bill (over £300), was told they wouldn't accept this as tables should have been booked in fours instead of one group. What difference does this make??? What a scam!

Great location on the Promenade, by the Casino. Large restaurant and a friendly greeting from the staff. Prompt professional service throughout, and an impressive wine list, including a Chablis . We were excited about the Vegetarian Banquet but it disappointed: the starters were pretty good; tofu, spring rolls, seaweed but tempura vegetables unimpressive. The mains were ok: Sweet & Sour tofu, Aubergine in Black Bean Sauce but Monk's Vegetables were bland. The pineapple fritters for dessert were poor - batter tasteless and soggy. £70 including a decent bottle of wine.

Food was good but let down by bringing out chicken chow mein instead of King prawn chow mein as ordered and £1.65 for a shot of lime into half a pint of soda seems a bit over the top.

Very disappointed. Ordered chicken and mushroom soup and found only mushroom in the water.... There wasn't even single piece of chicken! £4.50 for 100ml.of water that's kind of ripped off

Nicest meal whilst on Isle of Man.Booking for 1 and given large table on Friday nightFood and service could not be better.Another reason to return to the IOM!
