1860 Cafe at Green Lane, next to River side. Excellent - ordered cheese and onion toastie. Best toastie I have ever had. Spoilt me from ordering toastie from anywhere else. Staff friendly and efficient. Highly recommended.

A great little place to come for a works get-together do. The food is fantastic and there's a huge selection of drinks available with pretty much every flavour of Dead Man's Fingers that you could want.Staff are friendly too.

Use the Rowing club as part of a dog walking route normally for a coffee, sometimes a cake. Nice outdoor seating area and staff are always friendly. Visit most weeks. Had a Guinness not long ago and was given a plastic glass hence 3 stars

Recently stayed for 3 nights and have enjoyed our visit to Durham! The setting on the edge of the river is a perfect location with a 10 minute walk into the centre of Durham! We found the facilities perfectly adequate and although there was activity early in the mornings, it is an active rowing club and therefore we expected this! Our only concern, is that it would appear the fence that runs between the car park and caravan pitches has fallen down and really needs to be replaced, as we feel that the CL site is being used as a thoroughfare for the car park/boat sheds and as there are hook up cables running across this it presents a hazard!Apart from this, we would recommend this little site and would use again!!

Spot on for everything. The river, the caravan club cl and the bar. What's not to like. Everybody is very helpful, the showers and toilets are spotless. Will definitely be visiting again.

Lovely little site on the outskirts of Durham, a lovely short riverside walk takes you right into the centre of the city. Very friendly welcoming chap in the bar/ coffee shop who showed me around the toilets/ showers which are shared with the rowing club. The reason I haven’t given 5 stars is there was a strong sewage smell, which I guess was coming from a septic tank, but I will definitely return.
