Lovely walk along the salt Marsh only to be spoiled by a man who had 3 dogs, two of which were not on leads, which attacked my dog, which was on a lead as required by National Trust.

Brilliant place. I often walk my dog there and enjoy each walk, winter and summer, it's always a delight and blows away the cobwebs. Not overcrowded... mostly just bump into a few other dog walkers or sometimes a bird watcher. Have seen some great birds there and also saw a fox in the fields next to the car park the other day. Will be keeping my eyes out for it again in! Take your binoculars. There is a small bird hide if you go left down the sea wall.

Such a lovely walk that I didn't know existed until we joined National Trust. The car park is small yet free. Quite a nice walk and enjoyed the views.

Fairly small area of saltmarsh and coastal farmland. Good views over to West Mersea. Easy paths but restrictions to avoid disturbing wildlife make the longest path a there and back walk.

Copt Hall Marshes is a hidden gem in the Essex Countryside. Visit one hour before high tide and stand on the sea wall and your almost guaranteed to see the Peregrine Falcon hunting along the Marshes. The Short Eared Owls are also stunning just flying low over the creeks. Probably one of my favorite wild places in Britain.

I agree with other reviews here and the photographs are true to life but the comments don't really explain that there is essentially nothing here. All the paths and views are to be found in much more accessible places around the saltmarsh coastland, and the National Trust puts no effort at all into making this special with no facilities and hardly any signage. Some paths are surrounded by hedges so are in fact poorer viewing than average. Not a destination.

A nice place for a wonder. To access you drive down a lane and there is a fairly small car park. No facilities and the map isn't that great. You can walk over to the sea wall and walk along but it doesn't loop round so you do have to double back on yourself.

Great place for walking the dog and taking in all that fresh air. Interesting sites of neighbouring countryside and wildlife.
