The Hats and Barrels
We were staying in St David's, so were looking for somewhere close to eat out. Thought we'd give The Hats and Barrels a try as the reviews looked pretty good. The food was excellent and the service was just as good. It's not long been refurbished and it was very clean and tidy. Would thoroughly recommend coming here for a meal.

Really wanted to enjoy this place as family had eaten here before.. But unfortunately we had a roast on Sunday which was beef . The beef was so tough that it was so hard to cut and chew. My dinner was lukewarm, and the extra gravy was cold. I do think £3.95 is a bit much for cauliflower cheese (extra) . It was lovely set up for the summer with lots of seating and Riverside views, but unfortunately, food is not up to par.

Original choice of venue was unexpectedly shut so thought we would try the Hats and Barrels and so pleased we did. What a lovely place, light and airy with a lovely ambience. We all chose the fish and chips which was absolutely delicious and a huge portion! Will definitely return as the whole menu was tempting!!

It's refreshingly new and open plan although looks like theming is not quite complete and will develop over time. The food menu had some unique dishes (mussels with pasta and belly pork on a skewer were popular) and flavours and the open front kitchen add back ground entertainment I suppose. Service was attentive and kind...There is plenty of scope for live entertainment and private events outside of the summer season.

First time visiting the pub today. First impressions WOW!! Such a stunning venue and it smells of new wood which was gorgeous! Thank you for such a nice meal which we ate outside. We loved everything about our experience today and will definitely be back!

We have been in a few times whilst on holiday nearby. Three cask ales available for real ale enthusiasts. We ate there and my wife had the Harissa Lamb and I had Prawn skewers. Both delicious and perfect portion size. Dogs are welcome and there is a nice outdoor seating area by the river. Water bowls available for any four legged friends. Friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. Can be very busy and we noticed a lot of Reserved signs on the tables so I think we're lucky to get served as walk-ins.

Best meal we’ve had in years - amazing salad and HUGE chicken burger. Followed by best vegan gluten free cheesecake ever! Service perfect and beautiful surroundings next to the river. Restaurant and bar area beautifully designed. Love it!

Really lovely modern yet homely interior, beautifully decorated. Spacious beer garden too for the sunnier days. Food was delicious and service was fab. Overall great experience and meal.Lamb flatbread pictured - highly recommend.
