Quirky show rooms but then the plant areas were higgidely piggledy for the trees, bushes. Other areas were better. I'd certainly return because it's not part of a huge chain where everything is uniform and sterile. Breakfast sandwich I'd fully recommend and the slices of cake.

We went on Saturday morning. There were no other customers, the 2 staff were polite and said hello, that was the best point. Disorganised, untidy, few plants considering it is now spring and a main planting time. I'm aware now that it is up for sale and that some reorganisation was supposedly taking place, but there was no evidence of this. We saw no-one in the nursery section at all, whereas there always used to be someone tending plants etc. There were a lot of trip hazards so health and safety not high on the agenda with the owners. Also the café wasn't open. We had a drive of about 30 minutes to go there as it used to be a really good place to visit. We won't be going back. There are great Garden centres elsewhere; ACW, Woodbank especially. I have since read other reviews and I think the owner's reply to criticism sums up the ethos of this business. Save yourself the drive.

Went there originally last year, because we'd seen it on television. There is a small salvage/antiques ish area there.Salvage/ antique area looks nothing like what we saw on telly. Very expensive for items, to be honest not much of anything there.Tea room is ok, unfortunately today no food, just pie's and pasties. Felt sorry for lady serving, quite a few people came in, and some left as she only had pie's. We had a corniche pasty and a drink. Have to say pasty we very nice. Lady was on her own, told me she trying to get some staff, but having no luck.Garden centre is a bit of a jumble. Plants, and few bits. But now we have been a few times we have realised there is a lot more to it. Other areas, but we only found them by chance. Maybe some signs would help.It appears to be quite a large place, but I can't decide if it's a old garden centre and needs doing up, or it is an old garden centre that they are now trying to refurbish. In carpark there is small units, and now a fencing sales company. At far end it looks like a builders merchant.Worth a visit, because they have plants, planters etc, and the tearoom. We have been quite a few times for a drink over the last 12 months or more. Staff always nice, friendly and helpful.I think given time and as always, money spent on it, it has the potential to be a good destination.

Visited on the recommendation of a friend who spoke highly of High Trees who last visited a few years ago. Unfortunately everything felt a bit dilapidated and uncared for. Many of the plants looked sad and made me feel like I'd be rescuing them by buying them. There was an air of disorganisation about the place with it being unclear which areas were open to the public and which were meant to be closed. It feels like it had previously been a charming independent garden centre that has fallen on hard times more recently. They do have a good range of old ladders, buckets, baths etc. which would feel at home in a cottage garden which I haven't seen at many other garden centres. I wish them all the best and hope they are able to turn things around as it's great having a variety of different garden centres to visit in the area.

Found this place accidentally on rainy day. Excellent garden centre with sheds, fencing outside. Roses, succulents, and vast array of healthy plants, shrubs and trees.Posh Tat was a nice little surprise and the little retirement village for old Tractors made my day!!Staff were friendly and helpful and will definitely be going back soon....

It was like something off a zombie film.. no one there and a total mess. I felt sorry for the staff as maybe times were tough or something.Looked like half the plants were dead and stock (eg a lawnmower) which looked as if it has been there for the last ten years....unsold...due to it being twice the cost as Argos.....Was pricey too and I just that if the owners put a bit of effort in cleaning up their stock and putting it in some order it would be so much better. When we went it had been very windy in the morning but clearly the calmer afternoon and complete lack of any customers meant it wasn't the right time to pick up any of the stock!
