As a first time dog owner Sophia’s advice and training have been invaluable.We have experienced 121, Obedience classes and Hoopers training and all have been excellent. The classes are very informative and lots of fun.Sophia goes “ above and beyond” with her care and advice, her style of training, enthusiasm and encouragement have really helped me gain confidence and have made a huge difference to my life with my dog.I highly recommend On the Scent dog training.

I first started going to see Sophia at On the Scent training school approximately one year ago. Immediately I felt incredibly welcome. Kane, my 6 month old German Shepard and I came for a taster session at the Parkour lesson, we both thoroughly enjoyed it and were keen to come back. I expressed my desire to have Kane join in with obedience too and initially there was no space in the classes however within a very short time Sophia accommodated myself and Kane into the obedience class. I originally chose On the Scent because of its training is all done outside in a nice large secure arena. My experiences in the past of dog training has always been in village halls and although there is no problem in that I felt quite restricted at time, here is I need to I can freely move my dog, who can at times be protective away from a situation, something that I found harder to do when indoors.As I have stated I started a year ago and not only have I found all the other owners incredibly friendly and welcoming but Sophia and I have become good friends too and I now help her on occasions with her classes. It really is so welcoming. Highly recommended.

Sophia is a wonderful trainer giving support and clear instruction. Flynn loves attending and has grown in confidence as he learns more and practices. He has been attending for nearly 4 months now and the improvement is great to see. Highly recommended for all dogs and owners.

We brought our dog to On the Scent from a puppy, initially just for some puppy classes, but we stayed for general obedience classes, activity lessons and then when our puppy was old enough - agility for fun. Sophia teaches all manner of activities including scent work, parkour and rally-O and you sometimes just don't know what the obedience class will consist of - all for fun with no pressure on the humans or the dogs to perform. And it really is fun - we both love it so I can't imagine going anywhere else.Sophia is all about the dog and building a good relationship with humans and especially their guardians. When we have had worries or issues, she has always been straight on the phone to talk to us and help us through the difficult puppy stages. She also runs private lessons should you need extra help.It's outdoors in a fenced area - with separate sections for different activities. So you need to wrap up in the winter - but for me this is preferable to wandering round a church hall asking my dog to 'go heel' - much better to be in a more natural environment with smells and distractions, like horses etc.In summary I can't recommend On the Scent enough. It's so much more than gun dog training and general obedience.

We have been attending On The Scent dog training school for almost 5 years now with our Staffy Mabel. Sophia is so knowledgeable about training and dog behaviour. She takes the time to get know the dog and the guardian as each one of us is different and face our own challenges. She is so welcoming, friendly, supportive I would not go anywhere else. Mabel and I have done obedience classes and regularly attend agility which Mabel just adores. We also recently attended a 'Tricks Training' workshop which was great fun for both Mabel and me. Sophia has a gift for making you feel confident to relax with your dog and so the dog relaxes too and everyone is very happy. Thank you Sophia & Paul.

We absolutely love attending On the scent dog training. Classes are always fun and engaging for the dogs, always teaching valuable real-world topics. We currently attend weekly Saturday obedience and monthly Gun dog workshops with our 15 month old cocker. Sophia and Paul are extremely good at what they do and couldn't be more helpful and kind. Excellent dog school run by 2 of the nicest people.

Sophia's love for dog training is truly admirable. It's evident that she has dedicated her life to sharing her expertise and knowledge to help all of us become responsible dog owners.Sophia's extensive understanding of various dog breeds is remarkable, and it seems like she has a stronger connection with the animal kingdom than with humans (and I say this in the most endearing way).Not only does Sophia prioritize training, but she also recognizes that life events can sometimes interrupt the process, showing understanding and flexibility.When she praises you, you can be sure that it comes from the heart, as she takes great pride in witnessing the progress made by both her clients and their beloved dogs during her classes.

We first met Sophia when our vet recommended her as a mentor to help us with our latest rescue Border Collie who has many issues due to his earlier mistreatment. Working with Sophia over the past two years Gyp has massively improved. Although now nine years old he enjoys agility and this has helped enormously with recall and general obedience. Sophia’s patient, enthusiastic, professional approach makes the problem solving real fun. I would have no hesitation in recommending her

My dog was a nervous rescue when he started agility courses…. Thanks to Sophia and her wonderful guidance he whizzes around the course and absolutely loves it!!! We both do!!!I never thought he would be brave enough to go through a tunnel- he is deffo a much more confident dog now thanks to the agility classes.Highly recommend to anybody, even if you think ur dog may be too shy. Sophia will take care of you and also gives lots of other help, support and guidance - she will fully look after you and your dog and make you feel very welcome.Thanks Sophia x x
