Lilliesleaf Kirk

Beautiful grounds. Church is locked and looks a bit naff, but grounds compensate

We stopped here on Sunday, May 14, 2023, after visiting the Riddell Estate. My wife is a Riddell descendant and we were told about the Riddell crypt here at the Kirk. We found the ivy-covered crypt and spent an hour studying the encryptions and reflecting on history and our ancestry. We are concerned about the damage the ivy might be doing to the crypt and plan to reach out to the Kirk. This was a high point of our trip to the Borders Region.
