Pros: walking distance to town and that's it.Cons:1. There is only one toilet. ONE for all the campers. I couldn't even go in the morning had to use our own canister toilet. If a tent camper I guess I would have just had to stand in line and hold it.2. Clothes dryer barely worked. Paid 6 pounds for 60 minutes and everything was still damp.3. Electric is minimum and just for running our van. 14 hours snd we got only about a 20% charge. For location it's ok as it's the only campground an md good enough but in our opinion cost too much. We'd dry camp before staying again.

You’ll want to manage your expectations when coming here. If you use it as a convenient place to spend a night prior to or after boarding a ferry, then it’s fine. If you are looking for an idyllic place to spend a few nights, I suggest to keep looking.First the things we enjoyed: the lady at reception was very friendly in her welcome and check-in was quick and efficient. We were able to pitch our tent no problem without reservations. There are cute bunnies running around the camp field and there are a couple of picnic tables to sit at. The sanitary facilities were clean and continuously stocked with toilet paper and the camp site’s location is convenient with its vicinity to a shop, bus stop and some places to eat simple meals (The Anchorage Cafe is recommended!)Then the things that would not make us come back: the bathroom facilities are very dated, crammed and a bit dark. Honestly the public toilets at the ferry terminal down the road are nicer. The faucets and showers have push buttons that you have to keep pushing and you can’t control the temperature of the water. From most pitches it’s also a long walk to the toilets. The tent field has only few level spaces and is used by campervan dog owners to walk their dogs and they don’t clean up after them. The views from the campsite are not scenic and there is nothing to do in the immediate vicinity which isn’t picturesque either. In summary, acceptable place to stay for a night out of convenience but wouldn’t recommend as a main base for a holiday.

Nice owner. Very pleasant and chatty. Camping itself is good and reasonably priced. Restaurant, ale brewery and tearoom are a couple of minutes walk away.

There was a lady who answered at reception who appeared annoyed I had even come to the door. The dogs had started barking and I was told she had workmen sleeping upstairs. It all was a little unwelcoming and rude. I asked if it was ok to use the services to which the answer was no. I explained we were a bit short of water and it was only 2 in the afternoon so i asked if I could pay for a pitch for the night to use a space and the facilities until our ferry at 18:30. Answer no there are campsites on Harris you will be able to get your water there. We doubled back to the campsite in portree where the owner was lovely

Don't believe the negative reviews, we phoned ahead to see if was possible to stay for 3 nights, a very friendly owner, Martin, assured us it was no problem. We were met at the entrance by the sentry spaniels, checking in was straightforward, and as we were staying for three nights we were sited on the grass pitch overlooking the bay.A lovely site for just sitting back and chilling out, cafe/restaurant/bar all close by.The warmth and friendliness of the owners is fantastic, nothing was too much trouble, many thanks!

We asked to fill with fresh water in return for a fee. We were told rudely that we would have to pay for the whole night. We are Not the 1st review with same experience. The owner is missing out on easy extra income by retaining this attitude. He then wouldnt open the gate so i could turn around leaving me to reverse down a single track road in a 7 metre van. Thanks!

I tried to call many many times to ask about availability, but no one ever answered. So I headed out to find the place to enquire personally. The location is basically a car park by the port .The gentleman there was all but a gentleman .He was polite while I was enquiring about availability, but when I told him I wasn’t sure about staying because I needed to talk to my friend arriving in another motorhome, he change his mood.Guess he was happy only as long as he thought I would be giving him money!!When I politely asked him if I could turn around the motorhome in the large area in front of the office (far away from other motorhomes /facilities/people etc) I was told rudely told that it was only for customers, and that I would need to back up the motorhome along the narrow one way road and reminded that it was a private road .Surely there would have been no need for me to enter the road in the first place if someone had answered one of my many phone calls regarding availability for the night .Totally unwelcoming, and after the rudeness and utter spite shown, I would never stay there even if they payed me.Backed up the motorhome, unfortunately blocking the passage for his own customers, but he didn’t seem to care much about that either .Noticed too late the other google maps pin of the campsite, with many negative comments about the rude behavior of the person there ( I’m guessing the owner for his arrogance )I’m sure managing a camp site has its challenges, however treating potential customers as garbage is not an acceptable way of running a business .

Great little site, have stayed two years running.Owners were very friendly and helpful.Stayed in my camper, site on a slope but nothing levelling ramps could not sort out.I would recommend any time. There are workers staying on site but I never heard them come and go.

Very kind owner. We were coming late (car) and could check in and pay on the next day. Had than some issues with the car and got help from the owner. Camping site is good located and you can get within an hour to nearly all places on Isle of Skye. Facilities are old fashioned, but are working fine and are clean. Totally recommand this place.

Lovely little site. Well maintained, clean and tidy. Been to a few in Skye and this is by far the best for value. Scenic, very handy for ferry terminal. Everything perfect. Friendly owners. Would definitely recommend.
